Get Hooked Charters Galveston has been in business since 2007, when Captain Mike Short decided to turn his love for angling into a charter company. He couldn't wait to start sharing his love for the sport with his guests!
With 4 vessels to run, Capt. Mike isn't the only captain Get Hooked Charters Galveston has. He works alongside 4 other passionate and experienced captains to run a huge host of inshore, nearshore, and offshore trips. No matter where you choose to fish, and which captain you fish with, you'll receive plenty of support and local tips, tricks, and know-how.
If you choose to fish from Get Hooked Charter's 25' Grady White center console, you'll have a wealth of fishing options to choose from. You can opt to explore the inshore jetties and channel for that Texas Slam, Redfish, Speckled Trout, and Flounder, or head slightly further out to battle huge Shark species.

Your captain's vessel is decked out with top-quality safety and navigational gear, and can accommodate up to 6 guests. Had an awesome trip with Captain Moe! Even though his deckhand couldn’t make it, Captain Moe handled everything himself like a true pro. He set up all the gear, made sure we were taken care of, and created a fishing experience we’ll never forget.
We started off reeling in some baby sharks, and as the trip went on, the sharks just kept getting bigger. We hooked a few solid 5-6ft sharks, then an 8-9ft sandbar shark, and topped it off with a giant black drum. It was non stop action and an absolute blast from start to finish.
Huge thank you to Captain Moe for making it all happen. If you’re looking for a memorable day on the water, this is your guy!

Late Afternoon Half Day Bay-Jetty on August 5, 2021 • 5 adults
We had been cancelled by a couple other companies and Get Hooked worked with us on still giving us the trip we wanted. We went out on an afternoon trip with Dakota. He was patient with the kids while fishing in the bay. He then took us out by the Jetty to look for something bigger. We were thrilled with our catch! He talked about loving fishing so much that he even does it on his off days. I believe that having his knowledge helped us in location and technique. I’m glad the others cancelled and we ended up where we did. Great day!

We had an incredible time with Capt. Dave! He is very knowledgeable and did such a great job making sure we were reeling in fish the whole time we were on the water! He was great with our younger kids (5 & 8). He is patient, takes time to teach them, and makes sure they are included in everything! We can’t wait for our next charter with Capt. Dave!
