Gerry's Private Charters is a family friendly company that is based in a leading hotel just off the famous Beau Vallon Beach. It was established in the early '80's and has decades of experience in fishing and customer service.
Their Virgo is a 20' boat powered by twin 60 HP Suzuki 4-stroke Lean Burn engines. She can easily access most secluded beaches at low tide and take up to 4 anglers out fishing. The Virgo is ideal for short outings just to check the bite, as well as trolling and bottom fishing. The Virgo is fully licensed and has Passengers Liability Insurance up to $80,000.00
You will be targeting Bonito, Jack Crevalle, Rainbow Runner, Snapper, Barracuda, Grouper, Sailfish, Mahi Mahi, and Yellowfin Tuna, depending on which trip you choose. All the necessary gear and tackle will be provided, along with an assortment of lures, to make a great catch possible. Lunch is available on full-day trips, while drinks and fishing licenses are included in the price of all charters.

Captain Gerry and first mate China made quick work of showing their skill and experience on our voyage. We were reeling in catch within a half an hour and even had a strike on the main line (the one that the BIG fish go after). Unfortunately, the thief avoided the business end of the bait. The weather and luck took a negative turn but not the crews spirits. Singing was encouraged to fill the gaps as if we were Sirens trying to woo the fish to our lines. Gerry may have regretted requesting me to flex my golden pipes as my singing voice truly belongs a mile off shore. Next time, I will give him my rendition of the Sponge Bob theme song. When it seemed like we were going to get skunked on the second half of our excursion, (First mate) China read the Ocean well enough to put us back into action. We had multiple poles zinging at the same time filling the boat with excitement once again. Even though I'm sure our time session had expired, she kept us in the sweet spot making sure that our experience was maximized. (Greatly appreciated China) If/when I find myself back for another tour, I will be sure to break any silence with…,, "Ooooooh, who lives in a pineapple under da Sea!"

We had a very successful fishing trip with Gerry and his partner. They took us to a spot with lots of fish which made my son super happy. I would definitely book with Gerry again and will recommend him to my friends when they visit Mahe.

Had a really good trip with Gerry and his captain wife :). Caught loads of fish plenty of Trevally and Barrcudas with bonito and up to around 7kg. Gerry was a great host and we had a good laugh. Would highly recommend.

I grew up on the Beau Vallon Beach. On school holidays, I went to help the fishermen pull in the fishing nets very early in the morning and also I was very interested in water sports. And in the early '70's, I was one of the first local boys to be a waterski instructor and paragliding boat operator. In 1981, I bought my first boat and have been providing private charters since then.
