What better way to make the most of your holiday than with a trip to sea? Escape the busy beaches of Cabo San Lucas and discover the stunning waters of the Pacific Ocean with Behard Sportfishing. Specializing in big game fishing and spearfishing, you’ll have the chance to really test your skills, as you go up against some of the ocean’s most prized creatures.
Your professional captain will make sure that you have everything you need for a productive day out. Captain Oscar Mercado started the business in 2004, and has seen it grow thanks to his hard work. He now leaves the trips in the hands of his trusted captains, Edgar and Anthony, who will do all they can to get you on the biggest fish out there.
Up to 3 guests are welcome aboard the 24’ Arca de la Paz traditional fishing vessel for an authentic BCS experience. The small but sturdy boat promises a quick dash to the productive fishing grounds, and comes fitted with outriggers to help you troll. Using the latest rods and reels, along with plenty of live bait, you’ll have the edge over your target fish all day long.
Get ready for a serious workout as you come up against some of the world’s most sought-after fish. Sailfish, Marlin, Mahi Mahi, Tuna, and Yellowtails all promise to do whatever possible to get off the end of your line, so you’ll need a lot of patience and incredible strength to hook your dream catch aboard.
If you’ve got some experience with a spear gun, get in touch with Capt. Oscar before you go, and he’ll make sure that you can go face-to-face with these monsters, testing your spearfishing skills in the crystal clear waters.
With a cleaning and filleting station back on shore, there’s not much left for you to do but come aboard. Just make sure to load up on drinks and snacks, and arrive 30 minutes early to avoid any unnecessary delays.

Mahi Mahi x3 early July, Thx Behard Sportsfishing
Booked a 5 hour morning trip for July 2nd. Three fishermen (ages 62, 26, 23), all first timers in Cabo waters. Fleet Owner Oscar reached out via text to answer any questions a week prior to the trip. Oscar reported marlin, mahi, and rooster were all biting. He also reported winds were strong and waters were choppy. Oscar called to hotel morning of trip to make sure our party was on schedule. Oscar met us on the dock and arranged for the purchase of the daily fishing licenses. We boarded the boat (~23 footer) with Captain Armando in charge. Bought bait and headed for the fishing grounds. As we rode out, my son drove the boat so Armando could rig up the lines for trolling. We had the option of going after Marlin, but chose to go after Mahi. After 2.5 hours of trolling we landed our first Mahi (largest one). Another hour passed, and we had 3 Mahi. At that point, water was getting rougher, so we headed in. As we didn't plan for what to do with the fish, Oscar recommended we take some to Captain Tony's restaurant where their tag line is "you hook it, we cook it". We kept the smallest Mahi and dropped it off at Captain Tony's Restuarant. We returned for dinner, where the restaurant offers to cook the fish 10 different ways. Fantastic way to end the day overlooking the harbor, feasting on our catch. Overall, an excellent authentic fishing excursion in Cabo, except for one of my sons (sea sick).

Fantastic day
We went fishing for my son's birthday. Captain Oscar is super friendly and is great with kids. Right as we got out on the water, we were blessed to see several humpback whales jumping in the distance. We followed the whales for a little while. Then, Oscar took us to a spot for skipjack tuna. My son was able to bring in 2 skipjack. We hooked 3 mahi at a different location after that. My son really enjoyed his birthday trip!
