Captain Oscar Mercado runs a tight ship – or should that be 'ships'? A passionate angler of over 15 years, he began his own charter industry, Be Hard Sportfishing, in 2004 and now employs two experienced captains to take you to sea. While Captains Edgar and Anthony will do everything they can when you're on board to make sure you have a good day out, Capt. Oscar will be happy to answer any questions you have before or after your voyage.

My boyfriend and I booked with Captain Oscar and from the very beginning he was very acommodating, great communication, offered us an upgrade at a discounted rate to be more comfortable. Half Day Trip - 6:30 AM • 2 adults • 1 childOur fishing adventure in Cabo San Lucas was nothing short of spectacular, thanks to Captain Armando's expertise. Right from the start, he put us on Roosterfish within the first hour, delivering instant excitement. My 9-year-old son was thrilled, and Armando patiently taught him essential skills like tying hooks and lures, leveraging the rod for better control, and guiding the line smoothly. It was an invaluable learning experience for a young angler. Shifting gears, we trolled the open waters and hooked a vibrant Mahi-Mahi, followed by several Skipjack, Bonita, and Sierra fish. The morning was action-packed, with non-stop bites and reeling. This trip was perfect for a father-son bonding experience—truly memorable and heartfelt. Highly recommend Captain Armando for families seeking adventure on the waves. Thank you for an unforgettable day!

Him and his crew will teach you and help when needed, just the right amount. It isn't just about catching the big ones butthe experience and the love of the sport. It shows and price was right. Half Day Trip • 2 adults • 1 childMet Captain Oscar and crewmate Armando (Hermando?) at 6:30 in the harbor. He said our best luck would be for roosters and Jack Crevalle right off the beach. 45 minutes later we hooked up to our first fish. Lost it because I accidentally set the drag too tight. But soon after we had another and my son caught his first rooster. We had lots of action, and I got a couple of big jacks. We caght some other fish and went back to the dock with some delicious triggers that Captain Tony’s fixed up for us. Highly recommend these guys!!!!

Half Day Trip • 1 adultHad an amazing fishing trip! Oscar and Andy were ready for me about an hour early — very knowledgeable guys. We found a school of tuna very quickly and hooked up the first one in less than 30 minutes!!! Ended up with 80–90 tuna. Oscar also arranged dinner at a sushi place he knows and dropped me off at the hotel. Thanks so much! 10 out 10!
