Booked a 5 hour morning trip for July 2nd.  Three fishermen (ages 62, 26, 23), all first timers in Cabo waters.  Fleet Owner Oscar reached out via text to answer any questions a week prior to the trip.  Oscar reported marlin, mahi, and rooster were all biting.  He also reported winds were strong and waters were choppy.  Oscar called to hotel morning of trip to make sure our party was on schedule.  Oscar met us on the dock and arranged for the purchase of the daily fishing licenses.  We boarded the boat (~23 footer) with Captain Armando in charge.  Bought bait and headed for the fishing grounds.  As we rode out, my son drove the boat so Armando could rig up the lines for trolling.  We had the option of going after Marlin, but chose to go after Mahi.  After 2.5 hours of trolling we landed our first Mahi (largest one).  Another hour passed, and we had 3 Mahi.  At that point, water was getting rougher, so we headed in.  As we didn’t plan for what to do with the fish, Oscar recommended we take some to Captain Tony’s restaurant where their tag line is “you hook it, we cook it”.  We kept the smallest Mahi and dropped it off at Captain Tony’s Restuarant.  We returned for dinner, where the restaurant offers to cook the fish 10 different ways.  Fantastic way to end the day overlooking the harbor, feasting on our catch.  Overall, an excellent authentic fishing excursion in Cabo, except for one of my sons (sea sick).

We caught fish and a fun time on the water!

We went fishing for my son’s birthday. Captain Oscar is super friendly and is great with kids. Right as we got out on the water, we were blessed to see several humpback whales jumping in the distance. We followed the whales for a little while. Then, Oscar took us to a spot for skipjack tuna. My son was able to bring in 2 skipjack. We hooked 3 mahi at a different location after that. My son really enjoyed his birthday trip!

We had a great time fishing with Armando and the Be Hard Cabo team! Very knowledgeable with a ton of experience. Didn’t land a Marlin but it wasn’t for a lack of trying. The Rooster Fish were biting and what a lot of fun to catch they were!
And to make our choice to fish with Oscar and his team more affirming, a fellow fisherman was passing by with his son that has mostly fished with Oscar in the past said that we made an excellent choice fishing with Oscar.
He was absolutely correct.
It made our first trip to Cabo very memorable.

Had an awesome day on the water with Captain Oscar. He’s a really cool guy from California, so he speaks English. His nephew served as the first mate and was a fun young man to chat with in Spanish. Most importantly we caught tons of fish! 6 Mahi Mahi and 4 Bonitos. We saw one Marlin swimming, but couldn’t get him to bite. Captain Oscar also helped us get the fish vacuum packed and recommend Captain Tony’s to prepare our fresh catch for lunch. The sister ship with Captain Armando (doesn’t speak as much English) was focused on Marlin and they caught 1 further out.

The boats are on the smaller more utilitarian side, but they served us well and we had multiple rods out hitting 3 fish at a time when Captain Oscar found the schools. Other ships were fishing while we were catching. So leave the prissy passengers at home and hop in with Captain Oscar if you want bent rods with a great dude.
