Gulf Shore Local, Captain Shawn is the real deal! He loves what he does and it shows.
Captain Shawn has a 100 Ton Captain's license. Prior to becoming a charter boat captain, he commercial fished, in the waters you'll be fishing. With many friends still in the commercial industry, he always knows where to find the fish!
He takes care in accommodating his guests, especially our veterans, elderly and children. He listens to what his anglers want.
You'll love meeting at Safe Harbor Seafood, a real operational fish house! Where the nearby waters are rich with multiple species of fish, so you don't have to go far, to get your lines in the water and start reeling them in!

Nonstop fun
We had a blast!! We were catching them left and right! We even caught a baby shark that we of course released! Our guide was knowledgeable and a good guy.. he really placed an emphasis on cleanliness and organization, which I could highly understand. He had a great boat and some great gear and all we did was catch fish! He took pictures, shared stories, and even took the time to actually teach our youngest member proper techniques and I really had a ton of respect for him for that! Would definitely do it again, especially in another season of the year where we could potentially catch a few other species! Great experience.

Bama Bandit is THE BEST.
We can't say enough good things about our fishing experience with Captain Shawn. We spent a week in Gulf Shores/Ft.Morgan, and paid for other chartered fishing trips, but none of them compared to this experience. When we come back to GS again, without one ounce of hesitation, will book a trip with this guy. He took my 3 boys and husband out for the two hour trip. They came back with a load of fish! The boys and my husband said it was the best two hours of the whole entire weeks vacation. If you want an easy going and laid back time, and someone who knows exactly what they are doing, book with the Bama Bandit. You will not regret it.

Great afternoon on the bay!
Captain Shawn was great, we did a four hour trip into Mobile Bay and pulled in a bunch of beautiful blue cats, a few non-keeper hardheaded cats (still fun to catch), and a couple bull sharks! He was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions concerning the boat, the bay, etc. He also was very friendly and helped keep our littler ones engaged and happy even though it was their first time on any water bigger than a small lake. We all had a blast and would highly recommend him to anyone looking for a charter around the Gulf Shores/ Mobile area very reasonable on pricing and handles everything from baiting the lines down to filleting your catch.

Great experience! We have done a total of 4 fishing charters - this HANDS DOWN best experience! Shawn was professional- personable - efficient and just a great person. We caught lots of fish/they quickly and expertly cleaned/ bagged and iced . He was very kind - and gave my sons tips and tricks for fishing off the dock where we are staying and even made them some hook rigs for them to use for balance of the week. Highly recommend! If we come back next year we will again book Captain Shawn.

Fishing in Bama!
This was a great trip for those with only a couple hours of availability. We were in town for a softball tournament so our schedule was tight. Our Captain let us come and meet him slightly earlier than planned and we hit the water quick. About 20 minutes in we had a small shark on the line. Shawn tried to put us on to fish and we had a hard day. It was still a good day. Our total catch was two small sharks, a stingray, some nasty catfish and 5 good sized gaftops. Not a lot of meat but we walked away with more than nothing. I would definitely use this charter again if I was in town.
