Due South Fishing ll Gulf Shores
If fishing in gulf shores is on your bucket list, look no further than Due South Fishing. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Randy can tell you all about them.
You’re likely to go after Cobia, Gag Grouper, Jack Crevalle, King Mackerel, Sheepshead, Mangrove Snapper, Red Snapper, Spadefish, Gray Triggerfish, and more, depending on the time of year. On the day of your trip, you’re likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available; otherwise, you should bring your own. Snacks are never a bad idea so that nobody gets grumpy on an empty belly!
Capt. Randy will bring you aboard a 28 foot Triton center console that holds up to 5 passengers. It comes with everything you need for a productive day on the water. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience. Capt. Randy will supply rods and reels for you, as well as lures. Live bait is available, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the Captain. It’s always wise to bring bottled water, sunblock (non-spray), and sunglasses. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but you should avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

Best Family Experience
I cannot possibly say enough about our fishing experience with Captain Randy and Laci on the Due South. I spent over a month reading reviews and researching our trip because it was the 1st time we would be taking our 7 and 10 year old sons. They did not disappoint. Both Captain and Laci were very personable. Laci connected with my kids and showed them how to do things while we fished. It was all around enjoyable, we got to see the Sand Island Lighthouse and by the time it was all over, each of us had caught a shark. Memories abound. Truly amazing experience all around and one our kids won't forget! Thank you Captain and Laci for a great day on the water!!!

Great Memories!
We went on the 2 hour inshore fishing trip with our almost 5 year old and 8 year old. I fully expected to be helping the kids the entire time. Captain Randy and his daughter, Lacy, gave my husband and I, a fishing rod, and then they helped our kids, allowing us to be able to fish, and they assisted us when needed, as well. When we asked about catching a shark, they gladly put on the bait that was needed and our boy was able to reel in a small shark. We were so impressed with how attentive they were to our kids. If you have small children and want to have a good fishing experience, we highly recommend them!

Great Day On the Water
We had a fantastic trip with Capt Randy and Lacy. It was the first time fishing for my wife and daughter so we booked a rig/reef trip. The weather on our original day was not great, Captain Randy, knowing it was a first time out for my wife and daughter called and worked with us to move to a day with much better weather. They were very patient and helpful in teaching my daughter how to fish. She was a pro in short order. It was like fishing with family, unless you hate your family, then in that case it would be like fishing with someone else’s family that you really like. Wonderful folks, and wonderful memories. Thank you Capt. Randy and Lacy. We look forward to our next trip with you! Chris

4Hr Red Snapper (pm) May/June
Great day on the water
We had a great outing with Captain Randy and his first mate Laci! They both worked heroically, and patiently, to ensure we found the fish, and put something in the cooler for dinner. We were seeking red snapper for dinner - we found enough to eat, as well as a few Spanish mackerel. We also found a bunch of tiny ones we threw back for our next trip. Captain Randy and Laci did their best to coach all of us up on the techniques we needed to land our dinner. Despite a fickle bite, all 4 of us brought in fish. But, the fish weren’t cooperating as much as Captain Randy wanted - we moved from spot to spot often, seeking better results. We tried multiple baits, different rigs, bottom fishing, drifting, trolling… Captain Randy and Laci deployed a full arsenal of tricks to help the 4 of us have a great time. We’d recommend Captain Randy to anyone looking to have fun on the water!

My two boys and I recently embarked on their first-ever fishing charter with Captain Randy and his first mate, his daughter Laci, and it was an unforgettable experience! From start to finish, the trip was a perfect blend of excitement, learning, and family fun. Captain Randy is a seasoned pro whose passion for fishing and deep knowledge of the waters shone through. He was patient and engaging, making sure my boys (ages 10 and 11) felt comfortable and excited. He took the time to explain the basics of fishing, from baiting hooks to spotting the best fishing spots, which was perfect for first-timers. Laci is an absolute gem. Her energy and enthusiasm were contagious, and she connected so well with my boys. She helped them reel in their first catches, cheering them on with genuine excitement that made their day. Her skill on the boat was impressive, handling everything from setting up gear to untangling lines with a smile. It was heartwarming to see the father-daughter duo work so seamlessly together, creating a welcoming and fun atmosphere. The highlight for my boys was reeling in some fish and a baby shark (!!) that had them grinning ear to ear. The boat is clean, well-equipped, and felt safe, which is reassuring as a mom. All in, this was a fantastic introduction to fishing for my boys, and they’re already begging to go back.
