Around here, fishing is popular for Kingfish, Redfish, Speckled Trout, Blacktip Shark, Spanish Mackerel, Sheepshead, Red Snapper, and more if conditions are right. On these trips, you can expect to drift and bottom fish using light tackle. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Now that's dinner!
Lil Red is a 24' Kenner bay boat. It is a 1998 hull redone in the spring of 2023. This boat provides fishing opportunities to those who want to stay closer to shore and use light tackle to catch a variety of fish. Lil Red has a capacity for 4 passengers and everything else you need for a productive day on the water. You'll find rods, reels, and tackle waiting for you, as well as lures.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. A few items to bring include snacks, drinks, a hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation. Avoid hard liquor and glass bottles.
Live bait is available, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself. Your fishing license for the day is covered by the charter boat, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Be mindful that some species may have special rules or limited seasons. Simply ask and your captain can tell you more.
Now and then, the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. Time to make it happen with Red Eye Charters!

We landed some really big ones and a few that got away, but Jake corrected some of the issues we were having (our technique) and we landed some monsters! Great overall experience. Waves started to get a bit higher and captain correctly called for an end due to safety concerns. All had a blast, caught limits and most importantly all were safe. Great first time experience for our little ones and the captain did it all right. Would recommend this to anyone wanting to catch big fish far out.

Fortunately the fish were biting and we caught our limit within the first hour. He then took us to other locations to catch other fish for us to catch and keep. My wife was a first time fisher and he was quick to bait and cast for her all throughout our trip. My dad and I have been multiple times and we both agreed it was the best trip we have ever taken. I’ll only ever fish with Red Eye Charter whenever I’m back in the area

He had just got on some fish the trip before us so we hightail it back to the same spot and absolutely slaughtered them. I have fished a lot in my lifetime and this might be the best 45 minutes of fishing I’ve ever seen. He worked his absolute butt off. Highly recommend. three ladies with me all some level of novice as anglers had an absolute blast. Obviously we got a little lucky hitting this spot, but clearly he knows where to go.

Captain Jake kept us moving and kept us feeling like fishing. Watched several Charters leave the are and bring home little to no catch. Captain Jake and the Little Red put us on fish on a tough day and we took home enough fish to feed this family of 5 with leftovers for the next day. Thanky you Red Eye. Kids from 12-21 all had a blast and everyone landed fish thanks to Jake!

I took out just me and my 11 yr old son and Capt Jake not only put us on some honkin sheepshead almost immediately, but what I appreciated even more was his personable demeanor. He was especially helpful with my son (and even me from time to time) and we had a blast, learned a lot, and walked away with a full cooler. 10/10 recommend Red Eye with Capt Jake.

He knows where the fish are and is a fun easy to talk to Captain. We had a large 6 person boat and all 6 of us had fish on within 20 minutes. I will definitely book again with Red Eye Charters again. What was awesome was to be welcomed with Captain Gary at the docks who owns Red Eye! He was excited for our loot and helped Jake clean all the fish. We cooked up a few filets tonight and omg were they tasty. I will definitely fish again with Red Eye and you better book them early! They are hot!

The captain was super helpful and doing his best to put us in the right spot to land fish but mother nature had other plans and he still made it work. He’s a very knowledgeable guide, and we were both able to limit out on Speckled Trout. We also caught a few other types of fish and even got to see some dolphins! Great experience overall, and we’d definitely recommend Captain Jake.

Jake was our captain for our trip. We did a 11am 4 hour trip. Jake had our lines in the water and catching fish with in moments of baiting our hooks. When the bites slowed down, Jake moved us to several spots and kept us on fish all four hours. Jake was very knowledgeable of the waters, depth and what to expect or fish and how they would respond. All in All we had a great time and would highly recommend this company for your fishing trip.
