Hop aboard their 26' Seafox center console, capable of holding 4 anglers comfortably at the same time. She's powered by a 300 HP Yamaha engine, giving her enough juice to develop a cruising speed of 24 knots. Outriggers, downriggers, and a live bait well are available on board, to ensure your trolling can go without a hitch, so you can just focus on catching the fish.
The fish targeted on this charter are very varied, and you can pick out what fits your fishing style and desire. If you're up for some shallow-water action, species such as Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and others are available. For those who prefer the deep blue, you can go after King and Spanish Mackerel, Great Barracuda, Amberjack, Mahi Mahi, even a Sailfish if you come across one.
Captain Joe is a seasoned fishing veteran, and his preferred technique is trolling. He won't shy away from other styles though, light and heavy tackle, drift fishing and spinning are all on the menu. The charter provides all the necessary fishing equipment. Customers are advised to bring sunscreen, a long-sleeved shirt, and polarized sunglasses.
Fish cleaning and filleting is available free of charge. A fishing license is included as well. There is no minimum age policy for children and Captain Joe encourages young anglers to come aboard. Pickup is available from hotels, but customers are advised to get in touch with the charter to confirm if pickup is available from their location.
The Captain and crew are fully vaccinated against Covid-19.

We had such a great time fishing with Captain Joe! We did a half-day trip targeting Spanish mackerel, and it was everything we hoped for. Captain Joe was so friendly, patient, and knowledgeable, and he made the whole trip enjoyable from start to finish. We caught a ton of fish, had plenty of laughs, and just had an overall awesome day out on the water. Captain Joe worked hard to make sure we were on the fish and that everyone had a great experience. You can tell he really enjoys what he does, and it made the trip that much better. We would absolutely book with Captain Joe again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a fun and memorable fishing trip!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Captain Joe runs a top-notch operation and took incredible care of us from the moment we stepped on board. He knows these waters inside and out and wasted no time putting us directly on the fish. We ended the day bringing home 21 Spanish Mackerel, and Captain Joe had them all expertly filleted and bagged up for us before we headed out. Great boat, great gear, and an even better captain. This was a trip for my dad's 70th birthday. After booking this, dad was worried about his bad back and the waves and almost didn't go. I talked to Captain Joe about this when we arrived and he was super accommodating the entire time, slowed down for large waves created by passing boats etc. Joe was a really cool guy as well. I would highly recommend this charter to anyone. We caught probably 35 fish. Had to start throwing them back because we didn't anticipate the quantity! Joe even filleted the fish for us and brought Ziploc bags to put them in!!! Brought my 11 year old nephew and Joe had a lot of patience with him and taught him how to reel in the fish in as he was his own nephew. This was an experience we will never forget and it was expertly handled due to the captain.

My experience with Captain Joe was, quite frankly, unforgettable. This is my first time ever fishing from a boat in the Hampstead/Wilmington area, and I couldn't be happier with choosing Lever Drag Charters. Captain Joe was professional, kind, and kept what we wanted at the forefront of the experience. He knew we wanted to catch some big fish, and to finish off our seemingly easy yet enjoyable Spanish Mackerel derby, he very kindly shifted things for us so we could fish for sharks. It was a great way to end the morning! He answered all of our questions, provided guidance, and took care of things so we could just focus on having a great time. My brother from back home was visiting, so it was my best friend, my brother, and a hell of a memory. Seriously, great stuff. Couldn't recommend it enough! THanks Captain 🫡

Captain Joe was very personable easy to hang out with and fish! with very knowledgeable along with just being an overall good person to be with. Me and my wife went out on the water for the first time to go saltwater fishing and before our trip he made sure that we were comfortable and understood what we were getting into. At the end of it all after a bunch of good conversation, we made a new friend and he even cleaned the fish for us. Not only cleaning the fish. He also taught us how to clean the fish. Really great guy definitely gonna go again.

Hello,, I am Captain Joe Currie. Growing up in Wilmington N.C at the age of 10, I started fishing the waters of Wrightsville beach N.C., primarily off of johnny mercers fishing pier . At the age of 12 i started fishing the off shore waters of Wrightsville and Carolina beaches .After several years of fishing these waters, It inspired me to become a USCG licensed captain, So i could share my love and knowledge of this great sport with others .
