Spend an amazing day on the river with ChasingTales Alaska! Join Captain Alex, who's been fishing in the area his whole life. He goes above and beyond for his guests and tries his best to adjust each trip to meet their needs. Based on your skill level and personal preferences, he'll suggest an option where you'll get the most out of your trip.

You'll be fishing on one of the two 21' custom built aluminum boats that can accommodate up to 4 guests each. The boats are powered by single 50 HP Yamaha engines and reach a maximum speed of 30 knots. The vessels are also wheelchair accessible.

All trips are available from mid May until the end of October and you can choose from half-day and full-day trip options. These trips are shared, which means you'll be charged by person, not for the whole boat. Options to book private boats can be discussed, but come wth an upgrade fee.

You'll primarily drift fish and back troll for a variety of fish species, such as Steelhead, Dolly Varden, Arctic Char, and different types of Salmon. Captain Alex covers all fishing equipment and even caters to fly fishermen. Rainbow Trout, Dolly Varden, and Steelhead have to be released, but you get to keep other species.

Feel free to bring any food and drinks you prefer and don't forget to purchase a fishing license.

ChasingTales Alaska does their best to make your trip an unforgettable experience. Choose a date and join for some freshwater action!

We loved it!
Half Day Trip on July 12, 20263 adults1 child

Brady was a great guide! He taught us how to fish and perfected our flossing techniques. He’s was very attentive and wanted us to catch fish. We told him how much we liked birds and the different birds we were seeing in the area and he spent time telling us what he has seen and what the birds were eating. Thank you Brady, we hope you get to hear loons every morning!

Awesome; fish, eagles, and a super guide.
Half Day Trip on July 8, 20265 adults2 children

Bradley and Nate were terrific guides, great teachers, knowledgeable, put us right onto sockeye. One boat hooked 5 to 6 per person, got 12 to take home, other boat took 15 back (62 lbs of fillet s. Very helpful with varying ability levels from 8 years to senior with knee replacements and never fished like that before.

June fishing trip
Half Day Trip - 7:00 AM on June 12, 20263 adults

The guide’s introduction was great. Two in our party had previous experience but he offered minor points to improve their techniques. Our novice benefited greatly from focused instruction. They knew eqpxactly where the fish would run. Others just on the other side of the river caught no fish the whole time we were there.

Awesome trip
Half Day Trip on July 23, 20264 adults

We only had a 1/2 day and limited on sockeye in less than 3 hours…Brady did an amazing job handling motor issues, novice fishermen, and an unexpected dip in the river while wading by one of our party. I’d recommend both the company and Brady, if you don’t catch fish it won’t be because of them.

I grew up on the rivers of Alaska and have spent countless days learning their seasons, their fish, and the small details that make every trip unique. Guiding allows me to share places that have meant so much to me with people from all over the world. My philosophy is simple: this is your trip. Whether you're chasing your first salmon, hoping to land a trophy rainbow, or just want to enjoy a relaxing day surrounded by incredible scenery, I'll tailor the experience to your goals and the conditions on the water. I'll always give you honest advice about which trip is the best fit and work hard behind the scenes to make sure your day exceeds expectations. For me, the best part of guiding isn't just catching fish—it's watching clients create memories they'll be talking about long after they leave Alaska. I take pride in working hard, paying attention to the little details, and making sure every guest feels welcome, comfortable, and confident on the river.
