Big Butt Charters (short for Big Halibut Charters), invites you to visit Homer, Alaska – “Halibut Fishing Capital of the World." Captain Jordan is ready to take you on the fishing trip of a lifetime. He is an expert at fishing the many species which call these waters home – Halibut, Salmon, Rockfish and Lingcod. You will also view breathtaking scenery and wildlife along the way.
You'll be fishing aboard the Early Riser, a 2019 North River 31'X108” Seahawk OS 3100SXL. Powered by a pair of 300 HP Yamaha engines, the Early Riser is equipped with top of the line safety, navigation, and fishing gear for a safe, comfortable, and productive trip. Amenities include a stand-up flushing toilet, galley with sink, heater, and oversized dinette. There is plenty of space onboard for up to 6 guests.
We offer a variety of fishing trips to choose from, depending on what you want to catch. Take a specialized trip for Salmon, Halibut, and Rockfish, or target all at once on a Combo adventure. If your fishing buddies are not with you, you can always take a shared trip and join other anglers.
The price of each trip will include all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you need for a great time. You will need to bring a valid Alaska fishing license. Feel free to bring drinks and snacks (no glass please). At the conclusion of your trip the crew will clean and fillet your catch.
All trip durations are subject to change due to catch limits, weather, and safety reasons.

We had an Incredible trip thanks to Josh! One of the best trips we've ever experienced. Josh knew where to find the fish. We hit our limits on Halibut and Rockfish early so we went looking for Cod. Josh found a school and my wife and I started pulling them in as fast as Josh could gaff them on to the boat. Josh was patient with us and we learned a lot from him. If you are looking to book a fishing trip in Homer, Book Josh asap. It will be worth your time.
My wife and I had an amazing time with Cpt. Josh. We immediately got on some salmon and everyone on the boat caught several. Then we moved to halibut and started catching those as well! Can’t wait to come back and do it again.
Great day out on the water with Captain Josh! First class experience. The fishing was amazing. Josh made my whole family feel special. All of us limited out. A day we will all remember. Big Butt Charters knocked it out of the park.
