What an incredible trip and a hardworking crew with kindness and patience. You must take a full day charter to make this work ! We caught skip Jack tuna, yellow fin , mahi , wahoo, and as a bonus us trevalle. Derek who worked the lines managed to get a massive marlin to take the lure after two earlier strikes by working the lure and was a massive bite on the 3rd pass coming up out of the water to take the lure . We fought a good 15 Minutes with 2 spectacular jumps and just couldn’t land the marlin as he threw the hook on his last fight out of the water. An incredible day, the beauty around us, and watching the birds dive bomb bait as well as the flying fish made the trip a lifetime memory even if we hadn’t caught any fish. Chris and Derek were one of the best crews I’ve ever worked with. If you can only book one offshore trip anywhere in the world this is the one to take .

Captain Chris and his deck hand Derek were a blast to fish with! With decades of local knowledge they put us on a tuna beat down just like the sport fishing shows you see on t.v. We caught a number of fish trolling. We doubled twice and even tripled on another pass! Once that bite slowed we switched up to top water popping and slammed a bunch more. You could see the tuna and mahi come out of the water to hit the lure! Incredible stuff! The captain said we should try some deep jigging to try and pick up some bigger fish and that we did! Ended up catching the biggest fish of the day with this method! Ended the day with 25 fish and 4 different species caught with 3 different techniques. Ahi tuna, mahi mahi, big eye tuna, and skip jack tuna were the species we caught. It was a day I’ve always dreamed about having offshore! Thank you to Captain Chris and Derek for an unbelievable day of fishing! I highly recommend this charter to anyone that wants to catch fish and share some laughs along the way too!

Adam and Steve worked hard to get us fish. Had 4 hookups but only landed two. Rough seas but felt safe in their hands. Wasn't sure why we spent time catching live bait then never used it though. Would highly recommend.

We had the best time on this boat we have been three times we have caught fish every time but this boat had the best cream The captain you could tell really knew what he was doing he has lived there all his life. The owner even showed up to see us off at 5:30 in the morning they gave us a long and great trip we caught a tuna and a marlin and the deckhand was the most amazing help ever. I may small girl and he was helping pull the fish in with his hands on the line the entire time lol. The next day the captain even made a bowl of warm sushi and some rice for my husband so it was just great we caught a 150 lb tuna and like 130 lb marlin!! I definitely recommend these folks if you're traveling to Waikiki we even travel to the North shore to try out their boat and it was well worth it!!

Captain Chris & Derek were great! 👍🏼 I accompanied my 17-year-old son, who loves fishing and has been discussing deep-sea fishing in Hawai’i since last Easters. My 13-year-old daughter joined us because she didn’t want to stay home with her “annoying” other brother and my 17 y/o nephew, who kept telling his mom, “I got ‘em!” Four passengers set sail that day for a 6-hour tour…a 6-hour tour. 😅 The nephew threw up the whole time and finally remembered his sunblock in the last hour. 🤦🏽‍♀️ Daughter won “strong will” award for refusing to puke, even though she wanted to, and got bragging rights: “At least I didn’t throw up.” 💁🏽‍♀️ She even took a selfie of her and her cousin in his usual position (hunched over the side of the boat 🤮). My “fisherman” threw up one time in the beginning and blamed it on “nerves” and the itty bitty breakfast he ate. 👀 I ultimately won the “Didn’t Throw Up At All” accolade and accredit that to my grandfather and great-grandfather, who were whalers in Tonga. 🇹🇴💁🏽‍♀️😆 Captain Chris was knowledgeable, easygoing, and easy to talk to! He taught us a quick lesson about bananas and why they’re prohibited on the boat. 😳 Sorry! 😅 Derek was fast, friendly, and patient with our ragtag crew! I would have been happy with our first catch of aku, but we managed to catch a second aku and blue marlin. Winner winner fish dinner! At the end of the tour, we got a generous amount of fish to take home—Furikake panko marlin. Marlin poke. Sashimi aku. 🤤🤤🤤 Next year, we look forward to another 6-hour tour, minus the nephew and daughter. 😉 Mahalo Captain Chris & Derek for a memorable first deep sea fishing experience! A hui hou! 🤙🏽

We had a great time exploring the North Shore Coastline with Chris and Derek. They put us on some awesome bites but unfortunately, we didn’t hook anything. We had a HUGE blue marlin hit our lure while trolling and breach the water before spitting out our lure. Then, Chris found several schools of striped marlin and we had a couple moments of craziness when the marlin started hitting but alas, their small bills, strange feeding style (they smack their prey to stun it and come back to eat the prey) didn’t help us hook one. Never the less, we had an amazing morning on the water watching wales and tracking fish. Chris was even nice enough to take us to see some sharks on our way in. Kids had a blast and we will definitely book again

Capt Chris and his first mate are the “Reel” deal. Some of the nicest people I’ve met and got us on fish right away. I was skeptical about the whole thing, booking in the slow season of Hawaii fishing and weather not being great by any means, but man am I glad we went. Went out to what Chris called the circle of life and we’re catching small tuna left and right. I would say we caught 15 within 45 mins. Tons of fun. Then started fishing for something bigger. Caught 1 big tuna right off the bat. Then another awesome striped Marlin! The highlight of the trip. Then towards the end of the day my wife reeled in another decent sized tuna. We had a great time. And will book with Ocean Addicts again when we come back.
