Daytona Beach Charters
One of our top picks in Daytona Beach. Daytona Beach Charters is run by Captain Michael, who has 15 years of experience fishing in the waters of the Shark Bite Capital of the World. Setting off from Ponce Inlet, Mike loves sweeping the surrounding nearshore and inshore areas, reeling in delicious Snapper and Flounder from the bottom, jigging for the area’s renowned Redfish, Bluefish and Whiting, or casting for some Sea Trout or Black Drum. Preferring live shrimp, cut shrimp or mullet to any artificial lures, this seasoned angler will do everything he can to make your trip bountiful.
Capt. Michael commandeers a 19’ Hewes Redfisher boat that is powered by a Yamaha 130HP two-stroke engine, and is large enough to comfortably accommodate up to 3 anglers. It is equipped with a poling platform, two baitwells, Power-Pole anchor, holders for trolling rods, a casting seat, a flat casting deck, and an assortment of navigational/fishfinding electronics. Shimano spinning rods are the weapon of choice for this skipper.
Fishing licences are obligatory for all occupants of the boat aged over 16 (if you’ve got youngsters, they’re very welcome on board as well) and are provided by the Captain for your convenience, along with full insurance. As far as your catch goes, you get to keep whatever you reel in (as long as it falls within the fishing regulations) and bring it home for dinner, neatly filleted and wrapped up. Tipping is extra.

I’ve been on several paid charters-with and without my sons (ages 8 and 12). Captain Mike was more patient than myself and really worked hard at allowing us the opportunity to catch fish; taking the time to teach us the proper techniques-baiting, casting, placement, etc.
Capt. Mike is knowledgeable of the Intercoastal Waterway we fished; its species and nuances. I would definitely book with him again-just weren’t biting too much-but each boy caught fish (8yr old caught a bonnet head shark-first cast).
Other highlights of the experience included up close Manatee (right on side of boat) and dolphin sightings.
