See and enjoy the riches of the west coast with Sooke Salmon Fishing Charters! Captain has been fishing his whole life and decided to settle in BC, on the south of Vancouver Island. He runs kid-friendly fishing trips and accommodates beginners. You have to start fishing somewhere, so why not learn the skill with a professional who has a lot to share.
Hop aboard a 25' Houston that has the latest navigational and safety gear. This angler boat has the capacity for 4 guests to join, with enough space for everyone to fish at the same time. She's powered by twin 300 HP Volvo penta engines and reaches the speed of 30 knots if necessary. You'll also find a galley, private toilet, a bed, and lots of different fishing extras.
Salmon will most likely be your main target on each trip but you'll have lots of opportunities for other species as well. You can land a huge Halibut, Rockfish or Lingcod. Depending on what you want to catch, you'll switch between trolling, bottom fishing, and jigging. It's allowed to keep the catch, so bring your cooler and save the fish for later!
All fishing equipment and bottled water are included in the price. This leaves you with getting your license and bringing some snacks and drinks for the day.

This time we decided to hire a professional charter, and we could not have been more pleased with the experience. Luke’s professionalism and patience were top-tier – which to us, should be the standard. We fished in late December on a cold morning, but it turned out to be the most beautiful day and we caught three gorgeous salmon and one Ling cod. He also took us crabbing and shrimping. Luke made the booking process extremely easy was very responsive with messaging and we can’t wait to tell all of our friends and personally visit back soon! -Dani and Patrick

Seafood Westcoast Adventure on April 21, 2026 • 4 adultsCaptain Luke was great! We had some choppy water and half of our people were feeling sick. Captain Luke got us into some calmer water and worked to get us on some fish. No fish this time, but we did get some crabs and shrimp from the pots. We very much enjoyed the trip, scenery, and Captain Luke. Even though we didn't land any fish, Captain Luke gave us some halibut to take home!

Captain Luc was an excellent host and guided us through our first experience Salmon fishing. We were able to be very involved in everything including dropping and pulling the crab traps, and post fishing learning how to fillet. Bonus was the local Harbour seals coming to enjoy all the fish trimmings. Luc made this trip perfection.

I wanted to try out a fishing charter for the first time since living in the island for more than 10 years. I have fished stock lakes and rivers but never on open water. Luke was very accomodating and friendly. I bought my girlfriend, mom and my little brother for their first time experience as well. We caught a lot of wild Salmon at the first 30 mins of our charter. we had to let them go but fighting them on a rod was good fun. We managed to get 4 huge Coho and when we pulled out our crab pot by the end it is full of crabs! we easily caught our near limit of crabs and salmon. He even gave me one of his crab traps as a present for us. Thank you Luke for giving my family and I and amazing time!

What a fantastic day on the water. The weather was perfect and our captain was exceptional- knowledgeable, safety focused, and clearly passionate about what he does. He took the time to show us around and share insights that made the experience even more enjoyable. Despite the strong currents and it being off season, we came home with an impressive haul of crab - and were even sent home with halibut, which was a great bonus. We truly couldn't recommend this tour more. Everyone left smiling. It was an unforgettable experience.
