Explore the waters of British Columbia with Fijian Son Fishing Charter! Captain William is based in Sooke and runs fishing trips year-round. He’s been fishing these waters for over 30 years and has lots of trophy catches under his belt. Most of all, he likes sharing his love for this sport with other people and teaching them how to do the same.
You’ll be fishing on a 21’ Seaswirl boat that accommodates up to 3 guests. This cuddy cabin is powered by a 200 HP Mercury engine and reaches the speed of 25 knots. There’s also a wireless trolling engine when you need to sneak up on fish. The boat features navigational electronics, safety gear, downriggers, a live bait tank, and a cooler.
Explore nearshore and offshore spots, looking for Halibut and Salmon. There’s a variety of fishing techniques you can use to catch them and Capt. William will show you his best tricks you can try out.
You can release the catch, or if you choose to keep it, the captain will clean it for you free of charge. Make sure to bring your fishing licenses and pack some snacks and drinks for the day, while the fishing equipment is covered by the captain. Kids are welcome to join as well. Kids 10 and under are free when accompanied by an adult.
Fijian Son Fishing Charter will show you the best parts of fishing in the north. Pick a date and join them for your next adventure!
Gratuities are greatly appreciated

6 Hour Trip – Salmon (PM)
William was a wonderful guide. He mentioned that this time of year was a bit harder to get on salmon but he made every effort to try to get us fish. Unfortunately we did not get salmon, but he had crab traps that we checked before and after we went out. They have plenty of crabs and I was able to limit out on those. He had great music and lots of info about the area. We saw seals too! I’d definitely recommend him as a guide!

6 Hour Trip – Salmon (AM)
Captain William gave us a great day! We went out at 6 am and it was a bit breezy, but he knew where to take us for salmon. On our way out, he pointed out a bald eagle flying next to us and a couple of feet above the water looking for fish. He had great stores and we had lots of laughs. When we had “fish on” he was quick to take action, letting us reel and bring in the fish, and being at our side for assistance with the net. He put out the crab trap and we caught lots, but for us they were all female and had to go back. He cleaned our fish and set us up to take them to a packing shop for transportation. We would go out with Captain William anytime!

6 Hour Trip – Halibut (AM)
This is one of the precious few charters I have found on-island that will take single bookings and it was great to find! I was actually a little late to meet the Captain and he was very kind and accommodating about that. We went out fairly early in the season, cast for salmon and ling-cod and no big catch to report, but we did set crab traps and came back to find them full and I was given all the crabs fit to keep cleaned and packed in a cooler which was amazing. The captain and his first mate, Lucas were very warm, super-friendly and experienced with guiding. They were sure to point out and name all the abundant wildlife we passed. He has lots of solid fishing equipment and keeps it all top notch it is all new or like new condition. The boat is a sturdy no-nonsense fishing boat in good shape and it handles the currents and swells very well. I was very impressed with this charter, every consideration for safety was given. I was shown where all the emergency equipment was on board, shown how to understand the fish finding equipment; honestly I felt like a special guest onboard as I was casting, and left the experience feeling like a friend. I would love to go out with Captain William again the next time I am out this way. I would highly recommend this charter to any small group and particularly solo fishermen and females like me, don't be daunted by the challenges of fishing the PNW just get out there and try your hand at it. Thank you, Captain William and Lucas, for a wonderful experience.

6 Hour Trip – Salmon (AM)
When I arrived at the marina the ocean was pretty choppy. William gave me the option of going out another day. I could not change my plans as the rest of my time here was booked. I ended up catching a nice wild salmon and we trapped a bunch of crab. I had a great day with William on his boat. I would for sure give him a ring next time I am on the island.

By far the most exciting venture in a long time. Excellent laid back captain, he took us to see the lighthouse, we saw 2 whales, sea lions galore. We caught our limit and crab too. The weather was perfect. The best day ever.
