If you and your group want a real down-home charter, book a trip with Finders Keepers Charters and spend the day with Captain Kevin Trahan. Capt. Kevin grew up in Citrus County and has fished these waters since 1982. He’s fully licensed and insured. His local knowledge and outgoing nature will ensure that you not only catch fish but truly enjoy the diverse ecosystems that the Nature Coast offers.
Capt. Kevin will pick you up at your hotel or at a local marina and get you safely to the fishing and scallop grounds aboard a custom 24’ bay boat. Amenities include high-end tackle, Simrad electronics, PowerPole, Rhodan GPS trolling motor, and a custom raised tower to help spot fish from up high.
Expect to target Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Snook in the mangroves, or cruise the flats for Cobia, Tripletail, or Pompano. If you like trolling, come for Grouper and Mackerel in the fall and winter. Summertime brings the annual scallop harvest. Snorkel the gin-clear waters around Crystal River and harvest these tasty bivalves. Custom full and half day charters can be tailored to your needs.
Custom packages are available as well to include shore lunch, sightseeing, and sunset cruises. Capt. Kevin is a retired U.S. Coast Guard Chief and offers a 10% discount to military, police, fire, and rescue personnel.
All fishing equipment, licenses, and bottled water are included in the price.

Awesome Trip

Capt Kevin Trahan, Excellent Captain and guide. I booked a trip for my sons visit with his family. Originally planned for Sunday but as we closer to our trip, i realized that Saturday would be better as it would be 80 and sunny vs 60s and rain. Our son traveled from snowy Massachusetts so he would enjoy a day in the sun. The Cap did a fantastic job as finding several holes to enjoy the thrill of a catch two 24" Red and Drum fish! He knew how to manover his boat and tought us how to cast and catch those fish. I will highly recommend Captain Kevin.

Scalloping Fun!
Half Day Scalloping on August 1, 2025 • 6 adults
This was our second trip with Captain Kevin and once again, it was an incredible experience! He is not only extremely knowledgeable but also incredibly kind and patient—especially with kids. Our son was a bit hesitant to get in the water at first, but Captain Kevin took the time to talk with him and helped him feel comfortable. Before we knew it, he was in the water having an absolute blast! We came home with 4 gallons of delicious scallops and, more importantly, so many wonderful memories. We can’t recommend Captain Kevin enough and can’t wait for our next adventure with him!

Booked this trip with 5 friends, each with varying levels of fishing experience, and it was a great time for everyone! With a mixture of scalloping and fishing, there was tons of variety. We even had the opportunity to catch a 23 inch triple tail, awesome experience! Would recommend Captain Kevin to anyone I know!

Best day ever

Today was the best day ever. Caught lots of fish.... Even a small shark. Capt Kevin was extremely personalble knowledgeable. A joy the whole day. Made sure we caught fish then a trip to see manatee before our event ended. Needless to say we six grandmother's will bring our grand babies soon.

It was a pleasure having you guys out on the boat on a crisp winter day. The temps never got higher than 55 and the water in the bay is where we fished. captin kevin is top notch, ive fished over 30+ yr and been on alot of guided trips and kevin is one of the best ive fished with. great personality and just a fun guy to be around , also put me and my kids on fish all day. we took home several bags of fish. highly recommend
