Starting out of Manistee, an expert captain will take you to its beautiful and productive waters with a single goal in his mind – to make your trip a memorable one. If the water is rough or the captain predicts slow fishing, he’ll reschedule your trip or refund your deposit making sure that when you do come, you have a fishing trip of a lifetime.
Start your adventure on a 34’ Pursuit offshore sport fishing boat that can sit up to 6 anglers. It has 700 HP engine and is rigged with a modern and comprehensive navigation system. The boat’s got a wireless trolling motor and multimedia system. The fishing gear includes inline planer boards, Canon High Speed downriggers, and a livewell.
The species you can encounter on your trip include Salmon, Rainbow Trout, and Lake Trout. To catch them, you’ll deep sea fish.Both light and heavy tackle will be used. You can keep all the fish you catch so you can have some delicious meals when you get back home. Just keep in mind that you can only release the fish that survives catching. Kids of all ages are welcome to join in, so bring them along and enjoy a wonderful family outing together.
The captain will cover you for the rods, reels, tackle, as well as bait and lures. He’ll also clean and fillet your catch when the trip’s over. You should bring your license, food, and drinks before you depart.

my husband and I had an amazing time with Captain Mike and his first mate on Class Act Charter! Both were top-notch—super friendly, knowledgeable, and worked incredibly hard to make the experience exciting and educational. This was my first time salmon fishing, and I learned so much. Their determination really paid off—we ended up with 3 huge King Salmon, 2 Steelhead, and 1 Lake Trout! They truly went above and beyond to make sure our trip was successful. I would absolutely recommend Class Act Charter to anyone looking for a great day on the water, and we’ll definitely be booking again!

We left shore at 4:30 and although early it was totally worth it. We were 16 king salmon deep by 8:30. We maxed out and the action was fantastic. The Captain has a great sense of humor and the first mate is locked in the entire time on the lines and any and all movement. I have been out fishing in similar fashion at minimum 30 times and this is a strong duo plus a very well kept boat. If you want fish and a good time then I suggest you sign up for this boat. It’s a good combination of all things. Plus Manistee is a great little scenic town and bring a little portable grill to enjoy some of your catch at the public and well kept beach with great view.

We had a blast! My boys ages 8 and 12 had never caught a salmon before. Captain Mike explained what to do when we got a fish on and these boys landed 6 fish. The location was easy to find. They have a great boat with all the right gear. These guys live up to the name “Class Act”. We’d definitely fish them again. FYI - the last photo is at Chopo’s Northside Bar where they cooked our fish we caught with Captain Mike.

We had a great experience with Captain Mike and 1st mate Lou of Class Act Charters. It was a beautiful day. We chose the afternoon trip and even though Captain Mike told us the afternoons had been slow due to warm weather etc., we managed to catch 6 fish. Everyone on board reeled one in. Lou was great coaching us inexperienced fishermen and was especially great with my granddaughter. Watching her bring in the first fish was the highlight for me. Thank you Captain Mike and Loubfor the great memory.

We were very pleased with Captain Mike, First mate Lou and all the equipment. Very friendly yet very professional all around. Highly recommend. We were out earlier in the season and didn’t have ideal conditions to get the fish biting but these guys worked their tails off and even stayed out later than planned to get us on the fish. Didn’t catch a ton early on in the bright sun but hit a few at sunset…would have ended up empty handed if it wasn’t for these guys! We will be back in prime season 100%!!!
