South Texas Elite Outfitters welcomes you to Port Isabel and invites you on a fishing trip full of fun and excitement. Captain Arnold LaCount is an expert angler who'll take you to the best inshore spots in the area and make sure you have a great fishing experience. Inshore waters and flats of this part of Texas offer plenty of opportunity for making a fine catch, so don't hesitate and book your trip today!
You'll start your trip on one of our 26ft bay boats made to run shallow and put you on fish . The boat uses modern GPS and fishfinder systems for navigation and is also equipped with a livewell that will supply you with live bait.
Laguna Madre's and South Padre Island's productive grounds offer you the chance to catch quality species such as Speckled Trout, Black Drum, Redfish, and Flounder. Using light and heavy tackle, you can try out many different techniques to catch them. You can troll, spin, pop, bottom fish, as well as drift fish. You're free to keep or release the fish you catch, and you can also bring along children to your trip.
Captain Arnold will provide you with all the rods, reels, terminal tackle, and lures. Before you depart, you'll need your fishing licenses and some food and drinks.

Good trip

Nathan took us out, and I believe he was the owner’s son. He was very personable and made sure we were well taken care of. Our group of six booked for three hours, and while the travel time cut fishing down to about 2.5 hours, Nathan generously gave us a little extra time on the water. We landed 8 fish and hooked a few more that got away.
If I could suggest one improvement, it would be to include fish cleaning in the package—even at a slightly higher price. Many other guides offer this, and as a customer it’s a nice touch that makes the experience feel complete.
The one real downside had nothing to do with the charter but with the restaurant recommended to cook our catch. Unfortunately, the apps were terrible, and while the fish dishes looked good, the taste was disappointing—we left about 75% of our food behind. My wife and I own a successful bar & grill and eat out daily, so we know good food, and that place just missed the mark. I’d recommend steering future customers elsewhere.
All in all, it was a fun trip with trout being the catch of the day—no black drum or reds this time around. Nathan was great, and with just a few tweaks, the experience would be top-notch

Captain Arnold did a great job with our group. most guys hadn’t fished before and we were a big group for the boat (6 adults). he made sure we caught some fish and we did! We caught enough white drum to feed our group of 17 at the house! it was delicious too! what an amazing experience!

Bottom Line- I'd do it again!

The trip was more than I expected. Our Captain Art was knowlegable and experienced which he used to get us ourf limit of Red Fish. When wse are back again in South Texas, we will us South Texas Outfitter and ART again. Thanks.

Great Last Minute Trip
3 hour fun trip on June 26, 2025 • 2 adults
Had a fishing trip scheduled with a friend who had to cancel for the birth of a baby the day before. South Texas Elite Outfitters were able to accommodate us for the following morning. CPT. Mark was a great guide and had us limited out on specs within 45min of the first cast. We spent the rest of the time doing some catch and release. I highly recommend these guys!
