South Padre Outfitters – Ryan Falls
Family-friendly and pet-friendly. Bring your dog. South Padre Outfitters is here to make your fishing dreams come true! They will take you fishing on the South Padre Island's waters with Captain Ryan Falls. Having fished these waters for over 40 years, Captain Ryan is an excellent choice for a fishing guide in SPI. He is a warm, knowledgeable, and patient person who loves taking families fishing.
Captain Ryan will take you and your family fishing aboard his 24' Dargel flats boat, restored in 2025. This shallow water beauty is powered by a 250 HP Suzuki engine, with a maximum cruising speed of 55 knots. You will not waste any fishing time with this vessel as this much speed means you quickly change productive locations. Once there, the vessel's two sighting towers located at bow and stern will allow you to see the fish with your own eyes.
And now the fish! Tailing Redfish and Speckled Trout, bottom-dwelling Flounder, and the versatile Mangrove Snapper can all be found on South Padre Island. Most species are present year-round and all are great to eat. To target the fish, you will mostly throw lures but can also use live bait if need be. If it's your first time fishing and you are eager to learn, don't be shy to ask Captain Ryan for advice.
The boat has a livewell and an icebox on board, as well as all the fishing gear you need – rods, reels, tackle, and lures. You will only need to bring a Texas fishing license with a saltwater stamp. Please note, it's useful to have a hat, polarized sunglasses, sunscreen, drinks, snacks, and a cooler large enough for all your catch!
Now take a look at the trips offered below, book the one that suits you the most and give Captain Ryan a chance, you'll be glad you did!

During our time actually fishing, the action was nearly constant. We estimate we caught over 100 sea trout. They were all small, but very willing. Having dolphins surfacing around the boat was an added bonus, as well as adding excitement to pulling in fish! Fortunately, they never did manage to grab a fish on the line. Ryan is very knowledgeable about the area in general (he also runs non-fishing bay tours), and fishing in particular. His stories of friends, family, and experiences will keep you well entertained. He has a good network of other captains, and keeps up with current conditions and fish activity. While we didn’t need it, I expect this comes in handy when the fishing is tough. The boat is well equipped, and is a real hoot to ride in when Ryan opens it up. We were out a ways, and probably had 30 minutes each way to our fishing spot. Plenty of time to enjoy the speed, waves and sun.

thank you guys. had a blast. come again. i need a number to send pics
Mr Ryan was a great company, great captain in his knowledge and ability and companion. we had a great time with my family, brother, in laws and grandson. here is the however! this is to give the feedback to Ryan and all captains, in my business experience, if you are a mechanic, you have the best tools, if customer service, a great smile and knowledgeable in the product you offer, if you are a fishing captain, have the best nets to catch the fish, to avoid loosing the few fish customer may catch, the best and smooth fishing rods, the shiniest hooks so customer that do not have that much knowledge on fishing do not have to work with faulty equipment. i had a previous trip with another captain and we had to be towed back due to engine failure. another time a captain and crew did not keep count of fish and people that flew for the fishing experience and got their limit, did not get any fish because the were polite to let others get their fish first and they went back home empty handed. just do your best, best equipment, best knowledge of area, so customer do not walk with gaps and disappointment in their experience, we can not expect the fish to catch that hook every time we cast or expect the biggest fish but for sure the best effort to make customer come back!!! i have always been working to avoid mediocrity in my industry! never that mañana! mañana! and i share my moto!! to push others to try their best! echa toda la carne al asador!!! i will recommend Captain Ryan!! i will give a chance!! there is always room for improvement!! Captain Ryan did a great job! took my 7 year old for his birthday with his 9 yr old sister. we all had a great time.

thank you sir! come again!
Fishing with Captain Ryan was a lot of fun. He knows the area like the back of his hand and will definitely put you on fish. We saw quite a bit of action, and got some fish in the cooler to prove it. He's also very friendly and loves what he does. Highly recommended!
Ryan is a great guide and very personable! he is excellent and i would highly recommend him to beginners or advanced anglers! we limited out on trout in the first hour we were on the water!
I started fishing in the bay as a boy and fell in love with fishing. I enjoy being with people on the bay and showing them the techniques that I use. Although I use a variety of techniques, I prefer site fishing in the clear water and poling my clients up to tailing Reds. The Laguna Madre is a great location for fly fishing. We also use live bait for children and beginners. It's always great to see my clients catch their first fish! Fishing is something that has to be experienced to be fully appreciated!
