Nelson Guide Company offers a variety of fishing adventures on a budget. With Captain Si by your side, you’ll have a true local’s experience. He specializes in inshore bay fishing, as well as nearshore spots in the Gulf. All trips are family-friendly and there’s even a special package created specifically for the youngest of anglers.
You’ll be fishing on a 24’ custom-built Carolina Skiff that accommodates up to 6 anglers. She’s powered by a powerful and quiet 150 Mercury engine that reaches the speed of 35 knots. The boat has an upper helm station and a huge casting platform for sight fishing, as well as a very roomy lower deck. With this boat, you can reach extremely shallow spots, as well as deeper nearshore ones.
The captain knows how to adjust the trip to your preferences and skill level, so everyone can enjoy their time on the water.
Explore the inshore and nearshore spots and go after a variety of fish species, such as Red Snapper, Trout, Redfish, Flounder, Kingfish, Spanish Mackerel, and many more. Each trip is a unique experience and you never know what’s going to bite. Capt. Si encourages releasing the fish but you can keep a few specimens for dinner. He’ll clean and fillet it after the trip is over.
All your fishing equipment and licenses are included in the price. You only need to pack your snacks, drinks, and sun protection.
Nelson Guide Company does its best to deliver a day you and your family will cherish for a long time. You just need to pick a date and show up on time.

Goliath Grouper Excursion
Captain Si knows where the fish are at!!!
We started the trip by catching multiple species of fish while attempting to catch bait. Upon the first attempt at putting the bait down for the Goliath grouper we were hooked up! The fish pulled off, but we were able to tempt the same fish into biting 4 different times until the massive Goliath grouper decided to flex his power and broke the rod! Captain Si was as astonished as we were but it didn't stop his creativity when he proceeded to tie up a handline using his anchor rope. We were able to handline in a 7ft shark with it. He made sure we were having a great time. We caught red snapper, Warsaw grouper, almaco jack, Bonita, and several other species on our Goliath grouper fishing adventure. My family is already looking forward to our next fishing venture with Captain Si when we visit Destin next year.

Got Our Limit
Captain Wyatt took us for a short boat ride dropped anchor, baited our hooks l, instructed us where to cast and we started catching fish. We had our limit of snapper in less than an hour. They were delicious. Wyatt took us to another spot where we caught many grouper. It was a very enjoyable afternoon of fishing I'm glad we went!! Si quickly responded to all my questions and was very helpful.

Tight Lines and lots of laughs
My 9yr old and I went with Capt Si on a 4hr afternoon trip, we had a blast , caught lots of fish. ( tiggerfish, red snapper, red grouper, king mackeral) . We also enjoyed Capt Si funny jokes and stories . I would reccomend this trip !

Captain Waytt
Captain Wyatt kept our hooks baited the entire time and we went thru a lot of shrimp and cut bait. Almost a catch on each pass! At the end while returning he fileted each fish ready for the fryer. We fished next to a resort, under the bridge and next to the coast guard office. We caught way more than we could keep and the water was calm all day.

3 Hour Trip – Kids' Trip
Vacation Highlight!
I booked the 3 hour kids trip for my 11 year old daughter, my wife and myself. The goal was to have fun out on the water and maybe catch some fish for dinner. Capt Si delivered! We had a great time. We all caught keeper size fish and took our filets straight to the restaurant next door for a great meal. The whole experience was terrific!
