Nelson Guide Company offers a variety of fishing adventures on a budget. With Captain Si by your side, you'll have a true local's experience. He specializes in inshore bay fishing, as well as nearshore spots in the Gulf. All trips are family-friendly and there's even a special package created specifically for the youngest of anglers.
You'll be fishing on a 24' custom-built Carolina Skiff that accommodates up to 6 anglers. She's powered by a powerful and quiet 150 Mercury engine that reaches the speed of 35 knots. The boat has an upper helm station and a huge casting platform for sight fishing, as well as a very roomy lower deck. With this boat, you can reach extremely shallow spots, as well as deeper nearshore ones.
The captain knows how to adjust the trip to your preferences and skill level, so everyone can enjoy their time on the water.
Explore the inshore and nearshore spots and go after a variety of fish species, such as Red Snapper, Trout, Redfish, Flounder, Kingfish, Spanish Mackerel, and many more. Each trip is a unique experience and you never know what's going to bite. Capt. Si encourages releasing the fish but you can keep a few specimens for dinner. He'll clean and fillet it after the trip is over.
All your fishing equipment and licenses are included in the price. You only need to pack your snacks, drinks, and sun protection.

First off, when you take kids on a boat who’ve never done serious fishing, you expect some moans and groans. Wyatt was so engaging and friendly that my kids were completely enthralled. Whenever something went wrong he adjusted with a happy attitude and made us feel like we were part of the crew. This is what makes the difference between a good trip and a great trip. A lot of people can tie lures and drive a boat. Not everyone can provide an excellent experience for kids. This was, by far, the highlight of our entire vacation. Thank you, Wyatt.

great time on the water!!!! Captain of the boat was awesome and did a great job of putting us on the fish!!!!!! very helpful with everything answered all of our questions. even the annoying ones from my kiddos 😂😂😂 was a good time and we caught 18 spanish mackeral would have been more but i tried getting on a shark unfortunately did not get a bite but great time and very muxh so pleased with the service
It was a wonderful trip. Captains Wyatt and Mike made it a super fun trip for the kids. We caught plenty of fish and saw dolphins. Mangrove snappers, the biggest Ladyfish the captain had ever seen, Red fish, and even a blue crab. They even took us to crab island twice during the trip to let cool off from the heat. Overall amazing experience and we will definitely use them again next year!
Booked this as a surprise for my 15 year old. Had my husband tag along as well as my dad who was visiting from Germany. The boys caught some Mangrove Red Snapper and Bluefish. Captain Wyatt was fantastic. Everyone had a great time and they brought me back some fish for dinner. I’d definitely recommend them to anyone looking to go catch some fish. 10/10 - great experience!
Took my young kids, 6 and 11, for their first charter to see how they would do. The captain Wyatt and his mate did amazing. They helped the kids cast, set hooks, reel in fish all on their own, fixed any tangles or issues they had, and they both caught lots of fish and different species. They both already want to go more. We even had a Karen hassling us at one spot, and they were super cool dealing with her. My wife actually told her off. All around great trip.

Captain Si Nelson is in his 22nd year as a professional guide and loves it more and more every day. He is a dual threat, able to run bay charters as well as nearshore Gulf charters. He was born and raised right here on the Emerald Coast so he has a lifetime of experience of fishing the Emerald Coast waters. Over the years he has worked from Matagorda, Texas to Block Island Sound, New York, and everywhere in between giving him an extensive seaborne experience making him uniquely qualified to deliver the perfect experience for just about any crowd. Captain Si is just as at home stalking the flats in the backcountry as he is sounding the depths for offshore monsters, and knows how to keep things light and fun! A perpetual student of the University of West Florida's history program, Captain Si not only puts you on the fish but keeps things interesting with constant information about the local history.
