Whether a full day trip with a seasoned angler or a shorter family trip, Code Red Fishing Charters is up to the challenge! Captain Matt knows the famous Mosquito Lagoon inside and out and will happily share his knowledge with any prospective angler, regardless of their experience and skill set.
One thing that sets Code Red Fishing Charters apart from most other charters is their 24/7 availability policy. Whether at sunrise or in the evening, Captain Matt will do his utmost to accommodate your needs.
Captain Matt's main boat is an 18' Bossman skiff with a 60 HP Suzuki engine. This type of boat is what you need when fishing on shallow waters in and around the Mosquito Lagoon. The boat has all the necessary gear for inshore and flats fishing, including a wireless trolling motor and rods, Penn reels, tackle, and GrandSlam/Z-man lures. Fly fishing enthusiasts should, however, bring their own fly fishing gear.
Mosquito Lagoon is known amongst fishermen as 'The Redfish Capital of the World' for a good reason. Along with the Speckled Trout, the abundance of Redfish is why the Lagoon is such a popular place for many anglers. Tarpon and Snook have also been known to make appearances once every so often. If you're lucky, you might also see mammals such as dolphins and manatees.
Captain Matt has the licensing and insurance sorted and will be happy to fillet and package any caught fish for you to enjoy afterward. All you need to bring is a pair of sunglasses, some snacks, and a camera to take those quality wildlife shots.

Code Red Charter Capt Matt always puts us on fish..Whether you are successful is up to you..We delivered 1 (29” Red” ) landed 4 others that we couldn’t get in the boat.. We will be back again next year

We had a great time fishing with Captain Matt! Everything was good with this experience including communication, meeting up, and fishing. Matt has good knowledge of the water and created an entertaining experience for my girlfriend and I. Although we didn’t get into the reds, drum, or snook like I was wanting we were able to easily catch our limit of mangrove snapper and a even a pompano! Plus my girlfriend loved seeing all the dolphins up close and catching tons of snapper! Altogether a great trip and beautiful day on the water! I highly recommend this trip and would fish with Matt again!

Creat trip and excellent captain, My girlfriend and I went for 6 hours. The fishing was great. We caught 8 different species of fish. The captain was very helpful as it was only the second time she had ever fished. He was very patient and had her catching fish in no time. We moved several times and were always on fish . Great time on the water. Highly recommend this trip and will do it again !

Really enjoyed fishing with Matt, first time fishing a inshore charter had a blast. Matt showed me the ends and outs of back country and inshore fishing, he has top of the line reels and rods. He did the best he could putting me on fish, caught quite a few. Will be booking Another charter soon
