Relax of the river in New Smyrna Beach with fun inshore fishing! Captain Blake and Saltwater Angler Fishing Charters will take you on a trip far from the city noise. Anglers of all ages and skill levels are welcome to join. Take a break from everyday life and let the time slow down.

Hop aboard an 18' Beavertail flats boat that accommodates up to 3 guests. She's powered by a 90 HP Suzuki outboard engine and a wireless trolling motor and features a live bait tank and a cooler. Since the space on the boat is limited, please don't bring your cooler – there's enough room for your drinks and snacks in the captain's cooler.

Explore the Indian River, the Halifax River, and saltwater inshore. Your main targets are Redfish, Spotted Seatrout, and Snook, but you can also catch Tarpon, Black Drum, and Flounder. Light tackle and spinning are the most common techniques for catching these fish but you can also try fly fishing.

In case you want to catch fish on a fly, please make sure to bring your equipment. Otherwise, the captain covers rods, reels, bait, and your licenses. After the trip, he'll also clean and bag your catch free of charge. Feel free to bring your snacks, drinks, a hat, and sunglasses.

In case you have a large group of up to 15 guests, Capt. Blake can arrange that trip too. He can organize other boats and captains, so there's a small fleet at your service. This is typically a great solution for team buildings and large family gatherings.

A day with Saltwater Angler Fishing Charters is a perfect getaway from the fast-paced life. Join for a few hours and relax.

Half Day Trip with Captain Blake
Half Day Trip (AM) on August 19, 2022

Captain Blake was fantastic! He had everything ready to go as soon as we got there including ice, water, and everything to clean fish as well as package it once the day was done! Our first stop we slayed the trout and the rest of the day we got the opportunity to catch big red fish and more trout! We hit our limit on trout and redfish early in the morning so we spent the rest of the time trophy fishing! It was a great experience and one we will 100% recommend to anybody! We will be booking our next trip soon!

My wife and I caught Mangrove Snapper, Speckled Trout, Red Fish and a Snook. Best morning fishing ever! Captain knows the waters and wasted no time putting us on fish!

Half day with Captain Blake - and Jessie the fishin’ dog
Half Day Trip (AM) on April 2, 20211 adult1 child

Not generally a review writer, but felt compelled due to the fantastic experience with Blake. We had an unbelievably terrible weather day with temps in the 40’s to start the day (following a week of warm spring weather) and wind blowing 30 out of the north all day long. The conditions were miserable. It was our literal go or go home day—last day of vacation. Blake’s positive attitude put us at ease immediately and he knew the perfect areas to protect us from the weather. Even more impressive, he got us on the fish immediately, as well. He kept us on the bite, despite the conditions, with a well planned out playbook—and a giant sense of adventure that had us excited to see his next move in unpredictable shallows. Most importantly, he was the perfect balance of patient, knowledgeable, and aggressive that led to a great day on the water for my son and I—we will see him next trip for sure!

Captain Blake started fishing when he was young and became a passionate fisherman by the age of 12. He knows the area like the back of his hand and loves to put clients on a fish. He himself is an avid fisherman and the time flies when he is on the water and full day seems not to be enough (his wife and younger kids would disagree). Capt. Blake has three kids and the oldest one shares his passion for fishing. They participate in tournaments together and this year he won Redfish tournament with his son.
