Start your next fishing adventure with Janie K Sport Fishing! Captain Jason has been fishing local waters for over 20 years as well as other places around the country.
Janie K is a 25’ walkaround fishing vessel located minutes away from the best Striped Bass fishing grounds. To get there fast, there’s a 250 HP Yamaha outboard engine to power the boat and cruise at 25-30 knots. The boat is equipped with top Garmin radar/gps and fish finders to get you on fish. There’s enough room for 4 anglers to fish in comfort.
The season runs from April till roughly December. You can fish spring Striper, Fluke, Sea Bass, Porgies, Triggerfish, fall Striper, and more. Special trips like Shark and Mahi Mahi may be added in season.
You will be using great gear - Shimano rods paired with Penn and Avid reels. All lines are new at the start of every season. Make sure to bring your fishing license and pack some snacks and drinks for the day.
Not every trip can be non stop action although we wish it was, but we do our best to make it a memorable trip for your group and get on the fish. You will have a fun, friendly environment with Janie K Sport Fishing.

This was by far the best private charter trip I've ever had! Jay and Derek made our trip out today beyond enjoyable. They went above and beyond to not only find the fish but to get us hooked up. Right around the 6th hour they spotted fish breaking surface and stayed out for 2 more hours and kept us on the fish. Unlike other charters that call it at the end regardless of the action Jay and Derek made it a point to stay with the fish. Not only this but they never once asked for any additional money like several other charters have done. They are true fisherman through and through and i would absolutely recommend them above any other. My 14 year old son and 74 year old father had the best experience ever and fished a solid 8 hours and enjoyed every last second!! Call Captain Jay if you are looking for an absolutely amazing time on the waters of NJ!!

It was very rough but the captain knew what he was doing. We ideally wanted to catch bait but conditions didn’t allow it. So the captain brought trolling gear as a back up and it was a good choice. We landed 15 stripers and lost many more. So as a charter captain I was pleased. The captain handled the rough conditions and brought different types of tackle to adapt to the conditions. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

Capt Jason is a laid back guy who is very pleasant. He was the only one out there who found the fish and then worked to find the best way to catch them. We were so busy catching bass we forgot to eat lunch. While we fished Capt. Jason concentrated on catching new live bait for us to put on our hooks. Most bass were too big to keep, but were really fun to catch. We did end up with one bass just small enough to keep. Great day!

My family and I booked a striper trip with the Janie K. Captain Jay and Steve put us on fish the whole time we were out on the Bay. We caught 11 stripers amongst the four of us. In particular this was the first time my wife ever fished and she caught (2) 39” stripers. If you’re looking for an action packed fishing adventure, these are the guys. Captain Jay and Steve went above and beyond to make my family feel comfortable and put us on fish!

Captain Jason Paternostro holds a master's near coastal Captain license. To help with safety, Jason has everything up to date that you should have as a licensed captain with a current CPR certification, and current medical release clearing the abilities to work as a merchant marine. Jason has been guiding fishing trips for 15 years.
