Welcome to First Light Charters! Come get on the water with us and see what fishing on the Outer Banks is all about! Sure to be a highlight of your vacation! Captain Chris grew up on the Outer Banks and knows the waters and different techniques needed to catch a variety of fish in any season or condition. We will focus on whats been biting and may target Speckled Trout, Red Drum, Sheepshead, Black Drum, Blue Fish, Spanish Mackerel and more! Conditions change quickly along our coast and you can be sure we have the gear on board to adapt to any fishing condition from casting, bottom fishing and dropping on wrecks to trolling. We prioritize fun and filling the cooler and can work with any skill level to get you on the fish!
The First Light is a 2022 24' KenCraft Bay Rider that was custom built specifically for charter fishing and comfort. Come enjoy the ride and take advantage of one of the most spacious and stable inshore fishing boats around.
Once aboard, you are covered by an NC blanket fishing license. We outfit the boat with quality new Penn and Daiwa fishing rods and reels yearly. All tackle and bait are also included. Capt. Chris makes sure all you have to do is cast and reel them in!

Captain Chris was awesome & my family had a great experience celebrating my son’s 10th birthday! He was patient with my son who loves fishing & made sure to answer all of his questions. He was very helpful giving us tips and teaching when necessary, which was very much appreciated. He knows where the fish are and was willing to move to a few spots to try and give us the opportunity to catch various types of fish. Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend!

Kids First Saltwater Fishing Experience

Captain Chris worked really hard to put us on fish and keep my 10 and 6 year old boys busy. He was great with the kids and made sure to walk them through the process. Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely fish with him again!!!
