Carolina Flats Fishing
The community of Topsail Island, North Carolina, offers some nice fishing opportunities in the marsh flats or out on the sea. So when you’re in the neighborhood be sure to contact Carolina Flats Fishing. Captain Adam Wallace will show you around, so you can have a fun fishing session and luckily you will bag some fresh fish.
You’ll be cruising the coastal waters on board a 22ft Pathfinder , which can accommodate groups of up to 5 guests per trip. (Please contact prior to booking if your party is larger than 3 adults)
This charter covers inshore and nearshore locations along with wrecks and flats hotspots. Whenever you arrive to coastal North Carolina you can encounter Black Drum or Spotted Seatrout, as they bite all year round. Depending on the season you might also catch Redfish and delicious Sheepshead. When it comes to fishing techniques you can test your skill with light tackle, bottom fishing, and trolling, among others.
Families with kids will be glad to know that children are allowed. You don’t have to worry about special preparations for the trip as all the fishing gear, lure, and baits will be waiting for you on board. What’s more, the charter covers your North Carolina fishing license. If you get lucky you can keep your catch. However, if you get a big one, the crew will kindly advise you to release it so you can help their breeding.

North Carolina Family Fishing Trip 2025
Amazing! We couldn’t have asked for a better fishing experience. Two of our party had never fished before while the other 2 had more experience. Our guide Adam, owner of Captain Carolina Flats Fishing Llc, was taking care of us this day and he was wonderful in the way he helped all four of us (with our different skill levels). Adam’s plan for us today insured that all of us caught fish. His professionalism, teaching skills, and common courtesy made this experience very enjoyable for the group. Great half day trip
Fun and easy trip to book. The captain communicated well and keep us informed of the rain delay well ahead of time. We meet at the marina and started fishing shortly after hitting the water. Brought my two sons who were fairly new to fishing and they had a great time. Captain Adam helped them with how to reel in fish and get them in the boat. Which was very often I should say. We wanted to target red drum and had a double hook up right off the bat! The action was great! We worked bait and top water. We ended up with a nice slot 25’ inch drum to finish the day. Recommend for any level of fisherman.

Huge Fish
Had a blast fishing with Carolina Flats Fishing. Brought some friends along for their first charter and they both were hooked and are ready to come back. We caught bluefish, stingrays, a shark, some red drum, and trout. One of my friends was lucky to grab a nice 22 inch trout and a huge 32 inch red drum. Will definitely be coming back.
