Miller's Sportfishing welcomes you to the home of some of the best Salmon and Steelhead fishing in the world. Join Captain Jim, who has 35 years of fishing experience in the Pacific Northwest. What started as a hobby quickly turned into a passion, and soon became a decades long profession. With an experienced guide by your side, you're bound to have an amazing experience on the water.
You'll be fishing on a 25' Alumaweld that will carry you wherever the fish are. The boat is powered by a 150 HP Mercury engine and reaches a speed of 35 knots. There's enough room for 4 anglers to join, so bring your family or fishing buddies along. Besides navigational electronics, the boat also features a wireless trolling engine and fishing equipment, so you'll have everything you need, ready before you arrive.
Choose the trip depending on what you want to target. One adventure will take you to loads of Steelhead and the other brings different types of Salmon to you – Chinook, Coho, and Sockeye. An occasional Sturgeon is possible as well. You get to keep the catch within regulations and the captain will clean and fillet it for you free of charge.
All fishing equipment is covered by the captain and included in the price. Don't forget to purchase your fishing license and pack some snacks and drinks for the day.

There were bald eagles going over head all day. The water is crystal clear and fun to watch the fish run. Jim is incredibly knowledgeable about the area and he told us all about Big Foot. Yall, this is the guide you're looking for. We chit chatted for 8 hours and I'd do it again tomorrow! Jim, we will be seeing you again for sure!

Completely prepared, on time, communication was top notch and the best part…he did everything he could to help us catch king salmon…and we did!!! We caught TWELVE when no one else seemed to be catching anything. We couldn’t keep them all because you can’t keep the natives but we still ended up taking home way more salmon than we could eat. My mom and dad both caught over 20lb fish and my husband and I caught around 15lb salmon. Captain Jim made it easy. He has everything set up for you and makes it super easy to just sit back and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Except of course when you hook one, then be prepared to reel until it feels like your arms are gonna fall off! But definitely worth it. What a fun day!

8 Hour Trip – Summer Steelhead on June 15, 2024 • 2 adultsDespite two heavy rains we had an enjoyable steelhead fishing experience with guide Jim. He put us on fish and tried two different fishing methods (new to us). We caught two steelhead on the trip with two fisherman but only boated one. The one that got away was an acrobat that flopped over the net, rammed the boat and popped the hook. We went drifting and had most success with divers. We easily tried 4+ spots on the river. Jim was accommodating, cheerful and matched our ribbing on the boat. He was ready for anything and even had an extra raincoat on the boat. It was a challenging day of fishing but we will be back to try salmon with some friends. Recommend.

My son and I got up at about 3:00 a.m. We met Captain Jim Miller at the boat dock at 5 a.m. We were ready to go Steelhead fishing!!!! We brought our lunch with us and knew that "Jim" would be supplying everything else. Captain Miller was very welcoming and cheerful, and at the same time he asked us questions to determine our skill levels as it pertained to fishing and more specifically "Drift Fishing". Jim also explained how drift fishing worked and how we should handle the rod and how to react when a Steelhead took the hook. He also ensured that we both had our proper fishing licenses and punch sheets. He then stated we would have a great time (And that we did)!! The few times that we had mishaps such as a line snagging (Breaking) or even putting on a new bait, Jim would hand us another rod (In the ready) to go on fishing without missing a beat!! While we talked with Jim, we found out that he also devoted quite a bit of time each year to help veterans and those in need!! It just so happens that my son is currently in the U.S. Army and has been for 17 years. I had already retired from the Army. This trip was my surprise birthday gift!! We caught our limit within the first 6 hours or so!!! Captain Miller filleted all our fish!! I personally have fished in over 7 states (Including Alaska) and at least 3 countries. We were so impressed with Jim's volunteerism that we gave him some fish to pass on to others in need who were unable to fish anymore. THIS WAS MY BEST TRIP EVER!! Jim is a Great GUY, Great Guide, and of course a great Fisherman!!! I will stay in touch with him and hopefully repeat this trip as well as fish for sturgeon and other species. Thank you Jim!!!!

Jim was great guy and super fun to hang out with. Weve been on several fishing trips where weve felt like the captain was less than excited to take an all female group out but Jim was so pleasant and thoughtful all day. We had rough weather but Jim made the most of our trip. We caught a few small ones and he showed us some beautiful views. If we ever make it back out to the PNW we will be calling Jim again.
