Meet the Captain

Spend a relaxing day on the waters of Florida and create memories fishing with Reel Passion Charters. Starting out of Clearwater, you and Captain Nick will explore inshore and nearshore waters up to 9 miles off the coast as well as lovely flats and the backcountry. Captain Nick has been fishing Florida's West Coast for as long as he can remember and will provide you with a trip to remember. Join him aboard and have a terrific time catching fish!

Your boat for the day will be a beautifully restored 25' Privateer bay boat. It's powered by a 300 HP Yamaha engine and can sit up to 5 anglers. The boat is equipped with a fishfinder, radio, as well as GPS for efficient navigation, a wireless trolling motor, second station, and a livewell. Also, there's an ice-box you can use for storing your drinks and fish.

There are some great species you'll encounter on your sea journey, some of them being Redfish, snook, Tarpon, Gag Grouper, Spotted Seatrout, and Sheepshead. You'll use light tackle bottom fishing and spinning to attract them and you're free to keep all the fish that doesn't require releasing. Kids are always welcome, so feel free to bring them on your adventure.

Your trip will include all the rods, reels, tackle, live bait, fishing licenses, drinks, as well as catch cleaning. The only thing left for you to bring is whatever food you like.

Nick is a fishing machine. A true gunslinger of these local waters that he has always called home.  A local legend.  My two kids and I had an epic 4 hour fishing trip with Nick connecting on a little bit of everything.  As a fisherman myself, I know these days are not guaranteed so when booking understand its fishing and there are a ton of factors that play into fishing this area.  The cool thing about nick, is he is willing to adjust based on what he is seeing.  He’s a passionate fisherman himself and will work just as hard to get you on fish as if he were fishing by himself or with family and friends.  If you’re in the Clearwater area and looking to fish these waters, make sure to give Nick a call!!

started off as a kids fish but Nick was prepared for anything. he made sure the kids felt attended to and caught fish immediately. we went to catch some other species but nick spotted a goliath grouper and because he came prepared for anything we were able to pivot and catch it. after a long fight we landed it. kids had a blast and an ever lasting memory. nick was great with the kids and you could tell he had a ton of passion for his job. 

really nice boat and reliable equipment.

Nick was was great with our family

3 hour fishing trip 12-3 pm on January 1, 2026 • 3 adults • 2 children

Unfortunately a cold front gad hit but Nick was flexible and honest and changed it to another day! He made sure we caught fish! 
He was patient with our 3 kids and made sure we all had a great time! His knowledge  of the area was very helpful. He gave us a great recommendation on where to take the fish we caught to be cooked for us. Will definitely book with Nick again!

We got a Shark

4 Hour Trip – Sunset on August 3, 2025 • 5 adults

Being from the Midwest we never did any sea fishing so this experience was very new to us. Captain Nick was knowledgeable and got us on some smaller fish right away.  My teenage girls were having a blast catching them with every cast.  We then decided to try for a shark and my wife landed a 4’ hammer head which was such an intense and fun moment for all of us.  This will be a memory our family will never forget.

Captain Nick was very knowledgeable and very dedicated to making sure we had a great first time fishing experience in Florida.  We caught grouper, red fish and even tried to catch tarpon.  It was fun!  We can’t wait to come back again.
