The Fishing Detective Guide Agency is located in Marbury and offers to show you a memorable time in these waters.
Capt. Kenneth will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. This involves 4-hour trips, mainly fishing for Snakehead and Bass, depending on the season and conditions on the day. Snakehead Trips are very popular on the Potomac and the Potomac is the best Northern Snakehead fishery in the world.
The Potomac trips will have varying start times as well as launch locations. It is necessary to communicate with the captain so that these times/locations can be discussed.
Your fishing adventure starts on a 21’ Ranger boat that can safely take up to 2 anglers. All rods, reels and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. The Fishing Detective is partnered with Simms, Yeti, Quantum, Seaguar, Kuiu, Fishing Complete Inc, TH Marine, Vortex Optics, Woo Tungsten, Ardent Outdoors, Bigmouth Lures.
Your trip will include all the necessary fishing licenses for the day. The Fishing Detective Guide Agency offers only catch and release trips, so any fish you catch will be returned to the water. The captain can’t guarantee fish but he can guarantee that he will work as hard as possible. Capt. Kenneth fishes over 160 days a year to do his best to make memories with his guests. You’ll be fishing with artificial lures so a big part of success will be down to your skill. Whatever the skill level, Capt. Kenneth believes that a guest will walk away knowing more about fishing than when he arrived.

Writing reviews is always tricky to convey how something was genuinely, but there is no way to describe it other than perfect. Ken made the trip what it was, super helpful, kind, respectful, knowledgeable and I can see why so many 5* reviews have been given.
Captain Ken was welcoming, on time, boat in the water ready to go. You can tell that not only Ken is a great guide, but a passionate fisherman and put us in the spots we needed to be and gave guidance throughout the trip.
We caught many fish, and had the time of our lives.
Couldn’t recommend going on this charter higher, I will 100% be going again when I’m in town.

Amazing day with an awesome guide!
Half Day Trip – Potomac Snakehead on June 6, 2025 • 1 adult • 1 child
Ken is a fantastic guide! He took my 13 year old son and I out for a half day excursion on a tidal creek of the Potomac. His boat and gear were in tip top shape and ready to go on arrival. Although we were targeting Snakehead and only got one strike, it was explosive and were glad that my son got the strike. Over the course of 4 hours, we caught numerous largemouth bass, yellow perch, and a catfish (my son's first). Ken was patient while giving us guidance and instruction to make our day a success. I've fished all of my life, but both my son and I came away with tips, tricks, and core memories to last a lifetime. Ken's just a great all around guy to spend some time fishing with. I can't recommend him enough. Book your trip and you won't be disappointed. We'll definitely be booking another with him in the future!

Another great outing with Capt Ken. We didn't have to go far to find a great spot. My son and I probably caught a dozen bass but things really got interesting when the tides were changing. Thanks for always taking care of us Capt Ken. we hope to be back out with you in the near future.
