The Reel Thing Charters depart from Carrum, Melbourne, where Skipper Mark and his deckhand will take you fishing for the prize catch of Snapper, with bycatch of Flathead, Pinkies, Snook, Salmon, Rock Cod and Gummy Sharks.

Their 38’ Randel is the largest vessel departing from Carrum. It is powered by a 450HP Caterpillar engine, and equipped with Garmin GPS and fishfinder, and Uniden VHF radio. It features a large deck space and live bait tank, as well as a toilet, and kitchen. Trips include the use of all fishing equipment and lures, lunch and drinks.

The Reel Thing Charters are run by a friendly and professional crew who love taking new guests out and teaching them the best techniques needed to catch the prized fish species. They offer trips suited to both large and mixed groups and can accommodate your needs whether you are looking for one spot or trips for up to 18 people.

During the annual Tuna season from around April to July, The Reel Thing are based out of Portland, Victoria where they offer exciting full day trips.

He is an able fisherman who can put his clients on Squid or offshore species such as Mako Shark and Bluefin Tuna. Mark and his friendly staff will be more than happy to accommodate you.
