Spend a fun day out on the water with Take a Chance Charters. Based in Harwich, MA, Captain Sam Crafts is born and raised Cape Codder that has fishing in his blood - he's a third generation fisherman. His decades of experience and a passion that only grows stronger will be more than enough to help you have an unforgettable day on the water.

It all starts in Allen Harbor, where you'll come aboard a 36' Northern Bay downeast boat that accommodates up to 6 guests. Powered by a 500 HP Caterpillar engine, the boat reaches the speed of up to 20 knots. Besides navigational electronics, the boat also features a toilet, a bed, a live bait tank, a cooler, and outriggers.

Explore the rich fishing grounds of Nantucket Sound, in the tide rips of Nantucket shoals and Monomoy shoals, and the Atlantic Ocean. You can target anything from Fluke, Striped Bass, Cod, Seabass, Blue Fish, Squid, Albies, and giant Bluefin Tuna. There's a variety of fishing trips to choose from, depending on whether you want to focus on one species or explore the inshore waters and see what bites first.

All rods, reels and terminal tackle are included in the price, and the crew will clean and fillet your catch for you to take home at the end of the trip. Your trip also includes all the necessary fishing licenses for the day.

Take a Chance Charters offers family friendly fishing trips all year round. Bring your loved ones and create a memory you'll cherish forever!

My family and I are repeat customers of Take a Chance Charters. Captain Sam and his boat are the perfect set up for experienced/inexperienced, young/old. Great Trip To Cape Cod
4 Hour Trip on September 24, 20243 adults

Our first trip to the cape and wanted to take a charter. Out of the many charters that were available we selected a Take A Chance for a 4 Hr trip. We were not disappointed. The boat was excellent and in the rough water conditions we felt very safe. We caught many Tautog. The kicker at the end was watching the Harbor Seal come to the back of the boat for the scraps from filleting of the fish. Memorable day.

Fishing with Samuel
4 Hour Trip on July 26, 20225 adults

We finally decided to take a charter and it we are happy we did. The kids and my husband all enjoyed it. Captain Sam was welcoming and great in giving us pointers. One of our daughters was able to catch a nice striped bass for dinner. We had two throw two striped bass back in but it was certainly fun seeing the excitement on their faces as they were reeling them in. We did catch large blue fish but threw them back in. Captain Sam cleaned our fish and put it away for us. Great trip! Will be back.
