Lagoona Guide Service – Mille Lacs
Lagoona Guide Service was founded in 2011 by a full-time fishing guide and accomplished tournament fisherman Capt. Ryan Kelly. Since a recent Bassmaster poll ranked Mille Lacs Lake as the best Bass fishery in the country, you know you're at the right place to go after Smallmouth. And with an experienced guide on your side, rest assured you're having a trip of a lifetime.
It all starts on a 21' Ranger 621 that accommodates up to 4 guests. This ranger boat is decked out with the latest in electronics and hardware. All rods and reels are technique specific sourced from top manufacturers such as G. Loomis, St. Croix, Shimano, and Daiwa. The boat also features a 250 HP Mercury engine and a wireless Minn Kota motor.
The season begins in early May on Mille Lacs with target species including Smallmouth Bass and Walleye. Fishing for these two species slows by early November.
The Muskie season begins in early June, with the biggest fish of the year rounding out the season in November.
Bass and Muskie trips are catch and release.
The ice fishing season begins around December 1 with target species including Walleye, Perch, Pike, and Tullibee (Whitefish). Ice fishing is usually done by the end of March.
You won't just go fishing! If you're interested, Capt. Ryan will share his knowledge about boat control, equipment setup, understanding electronics and mapping, and seasonal fish patterns.
All fishing equipment is included in the price, as well as catch cleaning and filleting (for the species you can keep). Make sure to bring your fishing licenses and pack some snacks and drinks for the day.
Capt. Ryan Kelly will gladly give his best for you to learn something new and have a memorable day on the water. Get in touch with Lagoona Guide Service and pick a date!

My dad and brother in law went for an 8 hour trip and had an amazing day. They caught fish all day despite the conditions not being great for fishing. My dad kept saying how great the guide was and how hard he worked. We would definitely fish with Ryan Kelly again!

My son and I spent the day with Ryan. We caught some really nice small mouth bass and walleye. Definitely would do it again!
Had a great day with Captain Ryan. He put us on fish all day and my 8-year old Son was able to catch his first ever Walleye.

It was a beautiful day out and we anticipated it not being that great of a day for fishing, but we were able to get a decent number of small mouth very quickly and after an hour or two we switched gears to slip bobber for walleye and we got one fairly quickly, after a little while we switched to targeting Muskies as I’d never fished for them before and Ryan told me we can give it a try but no guarantee. In our first 30 minutes we found a few Muskies and landed a 42 1/2” and hooked into a second one that got away but over all a very great day and Ryan put me onto catching a lot.
