Running angling trips out of Cairns, All Tackle Sportfishing invites you to check out the local freshwater fishery in style. Immerse yourself in wildlife, with guaranteed top-notch fishing and the added bonus of potentially seeing some crocodiles!
Come aboard with Skipper Justin Gibbins, whose main priority is to get you on some fish. Expect to use techniques like bottom fishing, trolling, fly fishing, drift fishing, jigging, popping, and spinning, based on the species you’re targeting. Speaking of which, you have the option of 4 to 8-hour trips, where you’ll be fishing for the likes of Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Threadfin Salmon, Grunter, Trevally, Bream, Queenfish, and Fingermark, depending on the specific season and the day’s weather.
Your boat for the day will be a 20’ Cairns Custom Craft that fits up to 4 anglers at any one time. The boat comes with an ice box to keep your catch fresh, which is handy as you’ll be able to keep any legal species caught during the trip.
All the necessary fishing gear is included in the price of your trip. All that’s up to you is to use it as best you can. The boat will also be supplied with snacks and drinks for your pleasure, but feel free to bring your own. Please keep in mind you’ll need to get a fishing license before the start of the trip.
Want to bring the rest of the family along for the ride? Kids are welcome aboard, so you’re free to make it a family adventure. Don’t forget to bring your sunglasses, sunscreen, a hat, and camera – and you’re more than welcome to bring a couple of beers along, however, the crew emphasizes drinking responsibly.

Great Estuary Guide
Great day on the water in a great boat, excellent gear, with top notch guide. A quiet Saturday for bites at the mid/end of a dry spell for FNQ when bait fish numbers are low and prawns scarce, but we managed to pick up a few smaller targeted Fingermarks. The surprise however was the Barra and Queenfish that stole the days crown, making for a memorable day on the water. Thx Justin, your knowledge of the local waterways was invaluable to a great day out. 😉🍻

Ahoy. Fish-a-plenty 🎣
Captain Justin, at all times was professional and accommodating of all my fishing needs. So much so, I landed some of the best estuary gamefish of my fishing career. All in the near reaches of the Cairns estuary river system. He made it so easy for me to land the big one. I only wish I could carry CJ in my back pocket every time I go fishing.
