Running angling trips out of Struisbaai harbor, Awesome Charters has been successfully organizing saltwater fishing trips for over two decades. They’ve achieved legendary status throughout the years, and showing you what these magnificent waters have to offer is their goal!

Skippers Derick and Faegon Martin are here to get you on some fish and to make sure you have a great time. You’ll be using techniques like bottom fishing, trolling, drift fishing, handline, jigging, popping, spearfishing, and spinning, according to what you’re going after.

As part of their 4 to 8-hour trips, you can target species like Mahi Mahi, Tuna, Marlin, Leerfish, Shark, and Kob, depending on the current season and weather conditions. A trip out to sea from Struisbaai harbor takes you past the South African headland into the fertile waters where two of the world’s greatest oceans meet: The Atlantic and Indian Oceans.

You’ll be fishing from a 28’ Butt Cat boat with enough room for up to 10 anglers at any single time. It also includes a toilet, ice box, and fighting chair. All the necessary fishing gear and fishing licenses are included in the price of your trip. A deckhand will be there to help you with everything you need, and tips are appreciated for a job well done.

You will share the catch with the crew. Contact the captain before the trip if you have questions about keeping the catch. There will be complimentary snacks and drinks aboard for your convenience during the trip, but feel free to bring your own drinks or snacks if you prefer. Kids are welcome, so feel free to bring the whole family.
