Atlantida – Catalina Island runs angling trips out of La Romana and offers to show you what the local fishery is all about, leaving from the famous Marina Casa de Campo, La Romana.
The captain and crew will do their best to ensure you have a fun day full of fishing. He specializes in bottom fishing, all to get you on that bite. This involves 6-hour trips, mainly fishing for Barracuda, Amberjack, Queen Snapper, Snapper, and Papuan Black Snapper, depending on the season and conditions of the day.
Your adventure begins on board a 34’ Bertram boat that can fit a maximum of 6 anglers.
The price of your trip includes all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you’ll need for a productive day on the water.
Please keep in mind you’ll need to get a fishing license before the start of the trip.
You’re welcome to keep all legal species caught during the trip.

6 Hour Trip
While the captain and first mate worked hard, did a good job and were very friendly, I was sold a trip by Atlantic’s where we would be “bottom fishing for black grouper, snapper and amberjack.” Going in to the trip I felt comfortable that we were on the same page as the charter operator. We started the trip trolling to Calatlina island and hooked / landed a barracuda. We then snorkeled off the beach near Catalina island which was nice. It was then we ere supposed to go bottom fishing. Instead we idled 100 yards away, dropped the anchor in 40 feet of water and spent the next 2 hours handlining for tiny strawberry grouper and other 3-6 inch long tropical fish using a plastic spool and light monofilament. It was shocking to go from being told on the phone that we were going to be fishing for amberjack, grouper and snapper in a reef to this. Embarrassing for me since I booked the trip for our group. We did stop at an incredible snorkeling spot on the way home but honestly I would never recommend nor will I ever use Atlantida’s services again.
