Our team will do his best to take you where the fish are biting. He specializes in heavy tackle, trolling, big game fishing. He'll mix and match different angling techniques to do our best to ensure a bite from Tuna, Wahoo, Dolphin, Marlin, Spearfish, or Rainbow Runner.
Your fishing adventure starts on a 47' Buddy Davis boat that can safely take up to 6 anglers. This boat features a toilet, an ice-box, and a fighting chair. All the necessary fishing gear is included in the price of your trip, as well as the fishing license. There will be complimentary waters, but feel free to bring your own.
The first mate will be on the boat to assist with the fish and kids should you decide to bring the little ones on this journey, too. Leaving a tip for a job well done is much appreciated. Please get in touch with the captain if you have any questions.
What the catch policy on Kauai? Our most important priority is that you have an amazing experience, and if you are lucky enough to catch some fish, we will always send you home with fish! Here at Apex we have the most generous and liberal fish policy. Please remember that in Kauai, the catch belongs to the boat. But good news, with Apex Charters no matter how big the catch, you will always get fish! We will send you home with enough fish for you and your family to enjoy while you are on your trip in Kauai. Please know, there are no companies that will ship fish back to the mainland for you. So please plan on enjoying your fresh catch while on island.

Full Day Trip on August 27, 2026 • 5 adultsthe seas were rough, the boat is a Cadillac, it handled the waves very well, fishing was slow and we caught two male Marlin at once but only one stayed on for pictures. Captain Tim and mate Herbie worked very hard to put is on fish, Herbie never stopped changing up lures and trying different teasers. fishing is fishing! Thank you so much for a great and memorable trip!

Herbert was an absolute rockstar (even working a hand line). Tim was an expert captain on handling roughish seas. We caught 7 nice skipjacks and my family of 5 had an awesome time. Can’t wait to sync up with this crew next time we are in Kauai!!!

We caught an ono, 3 tuna, and 2 marlin and had a few more on the line. Would definitely recommend this trip, regardless of your skill level, for anyone looking for a great experience deep sea fishing.

Captain Tim and Wilber on deck were very enthusiastic and worked extremely hard to try and get us on fish in very sub optimal conditions. All in all even with 3 out of our 5 getting sea sick we had an amazing experience. I will 100% return and fish with these boys again!

The experience was wonderful. The crew did an amazing job working hard to find the fish. There was plenty of room to relax in the shade. The cabin is air conditioned and has couches some of us slept on. The crew were nice to talk to. We hooked a huge marlin that we faught for a while before we lost it. Very exciting. The entire experience was enjoyable. Very glad we had this experience. I would encourage people to do it.

While we did not catch any fish, Captain Tim and our mate, Hubert certainly tried. It’s called “fishing” for a reason;) seas were a bit rough with 4-6 footers but the big boat made it easy and we knew going into the day there would be some chop. Great conversation with Hubert. When we come back at some point down the road, we will be sure to look up Apex.
