I’ve gone on charters before and had a great time no question and caught alot of fish but i’ve never done a land charter but I couldnt be happier with the bookikng. Our target was a peacock bass and Diego didn’t disappoint but over delievered cause we also caught Mayan fish (Dont stick your finger in its mouth, you might not get it back) . The second we got to the first location i hooked one on the live bait that was provided. The fight of the fish was awesome and I requested a scale which was provided. Diego was patient with my wife when she got snagged in the trees or had difficulty with casting, at times casting for her, resulting in her catching the largest fish of the day at 3lbs. I cant tell you or describe how beautiful that fish was. We caught north of 25 fish within the 3hr trip. Diego was the perfect guide but also made you feel like your fishing with a buddy whos also taking care of you the whole time. We’d caught so many fish both our thumbs where chewed up from holding all the fish, great trip and i’d recommend him to anyone with a family who just wants to enjoy fishing, even if you dont know how to fish, Diego will take good care of you. Here’s the updated review with that added: Had an awesome fishing trip today with Stay Fishy. We caught a lot of fish, and I even caught my first peacock bass, which made the trip even better. We also almost caught the state record for a jaguar guapote, which was an incredible experience. My guide, Diego, was great very knowledgeable, professional, and made the whole trip fun and easy. you couldn’t ask for a better peacock bass fishing trip! Diego had us on the fish from the very moment we started fishing. We followed him through some urban areas and just had a blast. We always wanted to catch Peacock bass and Captain Diego made that a reality quickly and all day long! He was the best captain you could ask for, kept us informed on what we were doing, friendly, and moved when we needed to move to stay on top of the fish. I joined captain Diego for a 8 hour trip yesterday and boy did we have a blast. We started off the day going for peacock bass and other canal fish on the fly. Sometimes with fly fishing, it's a challenge to get in sync with the guide. My advice is to remain coachable, no matter how much experience you have or where you may have fished before, being open to constructive criticism and honest feedback is critical to being successful especially in waterways you've never fished before. Capt. Diego and I got in sync quickly. I had my cast dialed in after some trial and error and Diego was patient and helpful throughout. He made a recording of my cast for me to look at to remember the adjustments later. We then spent the early evening trolling for tarpon and on our second pass through the area, we hooked up with a 30 incher weighing 15-20lbs. Diego's communication during this battle went above and beyond as he helped me not only hook the fish and fight it for 15 minutes, but bring it right up to the boat. This fish was smart as he kept going under the boat, doing is acrobatic flips and head shakes and at the end when he saw the net, he jumped over it twice and that's when the hook came loose. It was a memorable evening to say the least and I will be back for more. We capped off the evening looking for snakeheads which was a whole different challenge as you have to cast quickly and accurately, pretty much in the dark, lol. I had a bite but old habits of setting the hook too soon got the best of me. I will definitely fish with Captain Diego again and I encourage all of you to do the same. He was super friendly, down to earth, relatable and extremely professional. His gear and bait offerings were top notch as well. Ask him to bring some cuban coffee! That stuff is LEGIT!!! Thanks Captain, I can't wait to come back and fish with you again. Next time we will land that tarpon as well as a snakehead!!! Tight lines my brother! Thanks for all that you do!!

Was over from New Zealand with work and needed to go fishing in Florida! Diego gave me a great experience with multiple varieties of fish caught and in a number of different ways! Live bait, lures and fly fishing. Diego gave great instruction on how to catch these fish I had never seen before! Would recommend this trip to anyone wants to catch a bunch of fish and Stay Fishy!!
