Fear Knot Charters
Fear Knot Charters is a state-licensed fishing and sight-seeing charter service leaving out of Dauphin Island Marina. They can also pick up and drop off out of Fort Morgan when needed.
Captain Richard White offers inshore and nearshore charters for a variety of local fish species. He fishes within easy reach of the area's beautiful sandy beaches and is looking forward to taking you on a trip to remember.
You will be fishing aboard a 24' Blazer Bay center console, built in 2024. It's powered by a 300 HP Suzuki engine, with a cruising speed of up to 32 knots, perfect for inshore and nearshore fishing. The boat can comfortably accommodate up to 4 anglers. It has top-of-the-range Garmin electronics, including a GPS, fish finder, sonar, and VHF radio.
Capt. Richard fishes with light tackle, employing a variety of techniques including jigging and popping to attract his target fish. You'll use Penn and Shimano reels with medium action rods and 10 to 12 lb test line, using braided line when fishing the docks for Redfish.
On trips with Capt. Richard, you could fish the back bays for species such as Speckled Trout, Redfish, Sheepshead, Pompano, and Flounder. You could also go further out to fish the nearshore waters for Spanish and King Mackerel, Tarpon, and Sharks. Just let him know what you want to target before the trip, and he will do everything he can to put you on your target fish.
You'll get all the tackle, bait, and lures you need for your trip, and the captain will supply fishing licenses for all anglers. He will also clean and fillet any fish you decide to keep at the end of the trip.

Our group had a fantastic inshore/nearshore fishing experience with Fear Knot Charters! Despite plenty of obstacles to overcome—including flooding up north, changing water conditions, and recent storms—Captain White worked hard to put us on fish, and we still brought home enough for some delicious fish tacos. What truly sets Captain White and his wife apart is that they offer much more than a fishing trip. They are genuine ambassadors for Dauphin Island, sharing their knowledge, hospitality, and love for the area throughout the entire experience. They serve their patrons not just for the day of fishing, but also by welcoming them in for ice and helping however they can to make the entire visit to the island better. Their local insight and welcoming attitude made the trip memorable from start to finish. Our entire group highly recommends Fear Knot Charters for many reasons, including their outstanding customer service, local hospitality, and Captain White’s service to our country. We are grateful for a great day on the water and look forward to fishing with them again. Thank you, Captain White “Colonel,” and Fear Knot Charters!

Thank you so much . Can't wait to take you again. Till then calm seas and fair winds
Captain White was great !! Our group had a great time joking around with this guy !! We caught lots of different fish (some monsters) and actually limited out on speckled trout and he was patient with some guys that didn’t have a whole lot of experience fishing out here . Captain White was very hospitable and fun to be around we even got to meet some of his family, great people great experience , if your looking for a no B.S. experienced guide this is your guy.

Thank you for your review. Looking forward to taking you and your family fishing again. The fish dance worked to bring back a box full of fish.
We had a great trip with Captain Richard. He had us in fish quickly, and we stayed in them the entire trip. He was very hospitable and knowledgeable about the area and where to fish. He also came and picked us up when we arrived on the Island and took us on a driving tour, pointing out all the important items on the Island. Couldn’t ask for any better! If we go back, we would book with him again.
