Shelton's Charter Fishing
Virginia Beach has a fish with your name on it, so let Shelton's Charter Fishing help you catch it! Your guide for the day is Captain Chuck, bringing aboard years of professional experience.
Cobia, Mahi Mahi, Flounder, King Mackerel, Black Seabass, Sheepshead, Spanish Mackerel, Tautog, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo, and more can be found in these waters, depending on when you go. For these species, you're likely to troll and bottom fish using light or heavy tackle.
Your adventure begins aboard a 32' Albemarle convertible with space for 6 passengers. It has outriggers, a fighting chair, and all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. There's a toilet on board for your convenience. Rods, reels, and tackle are covered by the charter, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but be sure to ask about it so you know if you'll be catching it yourself.
You'll have the help of a First Mate to put you on fish. Mates often work for tips and it's customary to offer them a 20% tip.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is show up ready for a good time! Have in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don't know what to expect, ask the captain.
It's never a bad idea to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen (non-spray). If you'd like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
Now and then the fish might get away, but a day on the water never should. So make it happen, with Shelton's Charter Fishing!

This was my 2nd trip out with Capt. Chuck. I took my father in law on his first offshore trip and had high expectations and wishes. Captain Chuck did more than just deliver those, he exceeded them, by far. He put us on fish everywhere we went and we were reeling them in all day long. I will definitely be back for a 3rd trip and highly recommend him to anyone. Thanks again Captain and 1st mate Dave for one hell of a memorable trip.

I appreciate Greg. I'm glad you and your father in law had a great time. Can't wait to get you guys back out again. See you next time!

Absolutely fantastic time. Will do it again!’nn
I took my girls, 9 and 15, out for Father’s Day since we lost their dad almost two years ago. He loved to take them fishing and they hadn’t caught a fish since. The fish really weren’t biting today, but they each managed to reel one in and it was a memory we’ll cherish forever. Captain Chuck let my youngest come up on the bridge to watch for dolphins and talk his ear off. And the first mate chatted with my oldest and I about everything under the sun. We had an awesome time out on the water and definitely plan to book a future trip again. Thanks so much for helping us remember old times and create new memories too!

Thank you so much, we look forward to next time! 🎣🎣
We couldn't recommend Captain Chuck and First Mate Mike more highly! They're both personable and professional. The boat is clean and fast. They work to ensure you have the best time possible. I asked for big fish, kind of joking, because who doesn't? Within two hours of leaving the dock, we had caught our limit of big black drum and my wife even caught a 48" "trophy/citation" red drum. We caught and released several more before heading back. Mike cleaned the keepers, and we must have ended up with 15 pounds of filets or more. Great guys. Will plan the 12 hour next time! Thanks Chuck and Mike!

Thank you guys so much! I really can't wait until next time. You guys were the best! This was our 12 hours the next day!
Captain Chuck called shortly after I booked the trip, we discussed the weather, water, and fishing conditions. From this call we decided to adjust our departure time in favor of better conditions. The day of the trip Captain Chuck and 1st mate were very accommodating making sure we were all set before launch. On the water, they were very knowledgeable about the seasonal patterns of the fish, what species to target, where to find them, and how to catch them. All-in-all a great day on the water. I can't say enough about the friendly crew, well maintained boat and tackle, and of course, the good time on the water. I'm already planning our next trip on the Pneuma!

Thank you, Patrick! We enjoyed having you guys out for the day. We look forward to having you guys back in the future. See you soon, thanks, Capt Chuck!
Virginia Beach, Virginia, United States
Captain Chuck grew up in the small fishing town of Bowers Beach, Delaware. As a young kid, he wanted to follow in his great-grandfather's footsteps and become a charter boat captain. He started his fishing career in Delaware Bay as an early teen his obsession has led him up and down the East Coast chasing all kinds of species of fish. With over 30 years of fishing experience, he has chosen Virginia Beach, Va. as his place to make his dream become reality in 2022. As much as he loves finding and catching fish himself, he ultimately loves sharing his knowledge and watching others catch fish, and having a memorable day on the water.
