Gambler Fishing Charters is Whakatane’s premier charter fishing operation.

Capt. Mike (Bozy) has over 20 years of experience as a charter captain in the Whakatane area and is here to get you on some fish, and to make sure you have fun doing it. You’ll be using techniques like bottom fishing, trolling, fly fishing, drift fishing, jigging, popping, and spinning, depending on what you’re going after. They specialize in day trips to White Island targeting the legendary Yellowtail Kingfish, Hapuka, Bluenose, Gemfish, and Bass.
Also Inshore trips to the Opotiki mussel farm targeting Snapper, Tarakihi, and Gurnard.

You’ll be fishing from a 30’ Bladerunner catamaran with enough room for up to 10 anglers at any single time. It also includes a toilet and an ice box.

When it comes to rods, reels, and terminal tackle, everything you need is included in the price. Don’t forget to buy a fishing license before the trip!

The price of a given trip doesn’t include bait, so be sure to get in touch with the captain about what your options are prior to the trip.

You’re welcome to keep all legal species caught during the trip.

This is a children-friendly charter, so you’re welcome to bring your kids on for a fun fishing adventure.

Book your trip now and hit the water with Gambler Fishing Charters.
