With the grounds abundant in fish, Rotorua Trout Outfitters and Skipper Julian Danby offer you some of the best boat fishing in New Zealand. Join them and have a memorable stay on the water fishing in unique surroundings.
You’ll start your trip on a comfortable 17’ Quintrex bass boat that can carry up to 3 fishos. It runs on a 90 HP Mercury engine, has got a wireless trolling motor for a quieter approach to the fish, and uses full-featured navigation technology which includes GPS, a fishfinder, as well as a radio.
You and your mates will be chasing after some Rainbow and Brown Trout. To catch them, you’ll be trolling, spinning, jigging, fly fishing, and drift fishing, all using light tackle. You can keep or release the fish you catch and you’re welcome to bring kids on your trip. Just remember that there can be no smoking while on board.
Skipper Julian will take care of all the rods, reels, and tackle, as well as fly fishing equipment. He’ll also supply you with lunch, some nibble food, and drinks. The only thing you’ll need to bring is your fishing licences.

My ten year-old son and I had a fantastic time fishing with Julian. He was knowledgeable, has tons of local fishing experience and was a pleasure to spend time with. We had a brilliant experience catching some beautiful fish.

This morning I spent 3 wonderful hours on one on New Zealand’s most beautiful lakes with a skilled Skipper, Justin, who made the morning really enjoyable. Justin handled the trip with real professionalism and he knew exactly where to go to get the best fish. If you are looking for a great trout fishing experience I cannot recommend Justin highly enough.
