Running angling trips out of Quepos, Cowboy Fishing Boat invites you to check out the local fishery in style.

Captain Jerry will do his best to make sure you have a fun day full of fishing. He specializes in bottom fishing, trolling, jigging, and spinning, all to get you on that bite. This involves 5 to 9-hour trips, mainly fishing for Mahi-Mahi, Roosterfish, Marlin, Wahoo, Snook, and Snapper, depending on the season and conditions of the day.

Your adventure begins on board a 30’ Bertram boat that can fit a maximum of 5 anglers. The boat is fitted with a toilet, ice box, and a fighting chair with rocket launchers and outriggers.

All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. Please keep in mind you’ll need to get a fishing license before the start of the trip.

You’ll be able to keep any legal species caught during the trip, with Billfish being catch and release only. Any fish you keep can be cleaned and filleted, as well as cooked in the Marina.

There will be a first mate on board to help you with anything you need. Tips for good service are always appreciated.

The boat will be supplied with snacks, drinks, and lunch for your pleasure, be sure to let the captain know if you have any questions or want to bring your own.

A Once-in-a-Lifetime Experience

Half Day Trip - Inshore (AM) on November 19, 2025 • 2 adults

What can I say… wow, wow, and re-wow! My boyfriend and I went on a full-day offshore fishing trip with Captain Jerry and his crew (Jose and Juan Carlo), and it was one of the most exciting fishing days ever! The mahi-mahi were on fire, and so were the sailfish. Cowboy's team are true professionals. We caught at least 8 sailfish (at one point we had 5 on the lines at the same time and managed to bring 3 to the boat!), and we landed 11 mahi-mahi. I may have lost count because it was absolutely insane — doubles and triples happening over and over again. The Captain and crew were nonstop busy, and so were we! This is a day we will never forget. Fish aren't always on fire like this, but let me tell you one thing… these guys know exactly what they're doing, and they will put you on fish. I'd say: don't hesitate — JUST DO IT!!!

Amazing Day Offshore Fishing!!!

My husband and I had an incredible day fishing the waters of Costa Rica! The Captain and crew were the best! Very nice and definitely experienced. We caught a bunch of live bait to get the day started and we ended up catching 4 Tuna and 2 Sailfish! Would have been 3 Sailfish but one got away. We had a great lunch and they even made fresh sashimi with the Tuna we caught and it was delicious! Hands down the best day ever and a wonderful part of our honeymoon trip. Will definitely book them again. We can't wait to bring back our kids and catch some more with Cowboy!!!

We had a great day at sea with the Cowboy crew. They worked hard to make sure we caught fish. I have fished all over the world but nowhere else have we caught so many fish. We managed to catch one mahi mahi and 6 sailfish in 8 hours. Fishing is about the sea giving or not. You can't decide if you will catch fish or not, but this time the sea was generous. Thanks to the crew for the experience!

Amazing time on the cowboy

The crew on the cowboy was awesome and were ready to go within seconds of arriving. Captain had great knowledge of the area and where to go for the fish. We had started off fishing for bait and his tuna pods were filled up quick. While we were wrapping up out bait run the crew through out a live on and we hooked up on a nice sail fish almost immediately. We had then gone out to the tuna grounds and there were jumping. All and all it was great time and highly recommend them. Hope to come back soon.

Jerry, Carlos & Jose were exceptional. The catch was a bit slow, but Jerry managed to put us on five beautiful sailfish. Carlos & Jose were knowledgeable, helpful and damn good mates. I'll be looking to book another trip in the next six months and these guys will be my first choice.. tight lines Jerry…..,👍🏻
