Playin' Hookey Fishing Charters is located in Nokomis and offers to show you a memorable time in these waters.
Come on aboard with Capt. Peter, whose main priority is to get you on some fish. Expect to use techniques like light tackle, bottom fishing, trolling, and spinning, based on the species you're targeting. Speaking of which, you have the option of 4 to 6-hour trips, where you'll be fishing for the likes of Snapper, King Mackerel, Snook, Barracuda, Redfish, depending on the specific season and the day's weather.
You'll be fishing from a 20' Sea Hunt boat with enough room for up to 4 anglers at any single time. It also includes an ice box.
All rods, reels, and terminal tackle are included in the price so you can focus on what really matters, fishing. Fishing licenses are also included.
You can keep anything you catch, as long as it's legal to do so.

My girlfriend’s father and I took this trip spontaneously just to do something while visiting Englewood! Found “Playing Hookey Charters” through this website and it was the perfect fit for what we wanted.
Pete was an awesome captain/ person, he knew his stuff, knew what to throw to catch what we were looking for and kept us on our toes with what we were doing next.
He has two options between gulf fishing, and or inshore trips. With that said we did the gulf, and will 100% be doing the inshore next time just to try it out.
Highly recommend!!!

Great Fishing Charter

Captain Pete gave us the best fishing charter experience possible! He saw it was windy and suggested we moved our trip to the next day for better weather. He went out of his way to ensure we had the best time by taking us to multiple locations, taking great photos, and helping us catch a HUGE barracuda! Captain Pete put us right on the catch. We caught over 50 of all types of fish as well as a Ray and even seen some sharks!
Super knowledgeable of the fishing area and very hands on with explaining techniques and species of the fish. Cant wait to go again! You wont be disappointed we had a great experience with Captain Pete!

I had a fun time fishing with Capt. Peter. I wanted to target Barracuda and he guided me do just that. We caught a variety of fish while jigging for blue runners to use as bait including a small shark and a LookDown fish which I had never seen before. Then we trolled for cudas and had 7 hits. What a rush when they hit your bait! They definitley are a fighting fish which was exactly what I was looking for. Thanks Capt Peter for a fun day and I look forward to more trips with you!

Awesome day of fishing off Nokomis!

We were a group of 4 ladies (2 adults and 2 teens), only one of us had really fished before, and we had a blast! Our captain had us pulling up red snapper the minute we anchored and dropped our lines! Wonderful full service, the captain took care of everything and we had a ton of fun. We brought home enough fish to eat for days and even share with some friends. We'd love to come back and do some more fishing with him again sometime. 100% recommend!
