Al's Guide Service runs angling trips out of Pulaski and also does estuary trips on the Salmon River. Al offers to show you what the local fishery is all about.

Al aims to tailor every trip to your specific needs, so let him know what you're after! Depending on the trip and species, you'll be using techniques like trolling, fly fishing, drift fishing, jigging, and spinning. You're looking at 6-7 hour trips, where you'll usually go after the likes of Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, and King Salmon, depending on the weather and time of year.

Your fishing adventure starts on a 16' Hyde boat that can safely take up to 2 anglers.

The price of your trip includes all the rods, reels, and terminal tackle you'll need for a productive day on the water. Please keep in mind you'll need to get a fishing license before the start of the trip.

Before i leave a review. I spoke with a Captain named Al in the beginning of the booking. Confirmed with him. A couple days before i was contacted that Ralph would be our guide. We were told tyat a float trip wasnt going to happen because of water conditions. (understandable) so we would be wading and could get on private water. I recieved a text at approximately 5:00am on the morning of trip that Ralph was very ill and wouldn’t be able to make it. Ralph made a contact with a young man named Mike. Mike contacted us and set a meeting place (Tressel Pool). Mike assured us that we would catch King’s and he was right. Mike saved the day. We had a blast. I had multiple hookups and landed one King and my friend landed 4. Mike saved the day on short notice. He was fantastic! There was another guide named Paul that assisted as well. I would recommend both guys any day of the week! We had a great day with the locals at the Tressel Pool. Its a whole different ballgame fishing for King’s with a flyrod! We will be back!

Great day on the water with a great guide

We had such an amazing day fishing with Al. He was incredibly patient, helpful, and made us feel comfortable right from the start. He was great about sharing his knowledge and helping us throughout the day and we ended up catching plenty of fish. We had a great time and would absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a fishing guide.

Excellent day on the river

Al was a very good guide. Pleasent demeanor and definitely knew the river. We were casting lines within 5 minutes of getting in tbe boat. Several hook throughout the day and ended up landing 4 steelhead and a very nice 7 pound brown. Highly recommend Al and will be using hom again next time fishing tbe Salmon River.

    Capt Al is an excellent guide . We hooked yp 22 times and landed 17 steelhed from 14 to 24 inches. He knows the river and ware to find the fish. EXCELLENRTRIP !!!

    We just came from a memorable fishing experience in the beautiful Salmon River in Pulaski, NY, with Captain Al and we couldn’t be happier. From the time we booked, he was very communicative and clear what to expect and told us what to bring. This was our fourth weekend fishing in the Salmon River and fortunately we landed our first king salmon and we were able to land up to the limit allowed. Those previous trips/weekends without a guide unfortunately we were not able to land a fish. Captain Al was exceptionally patient with all of us being a total stranger to fly fishing because we used to fish with a spinning reel. His knowledge of the river is very obvious. His gear was top-notch and his way to teach us of the techiniques was very professional. He is also well respected with the people in the place especially with his friends and co-guides. And his friends also helped us a lot. We highly recommend Captain Al for those who would like to experience fishing in the Salmon River.
