Book your next trip with Apocalypse Fishing and find out what the fishing in Altmar is all about. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Nick is prepared to put you on fish.
Species like Chinook Salmon, Atlantic Salmon, Coho Salmon, Rainbow Trout (Steelhead), Brown Trout, and more could be biting if you cast your line at the right time of year. During the trip, you might be spinning, trolling, jigging, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Nick also offers fly fishing, but you may need to bring your own fly gear.
Planning a family adventure? Kids are absolutely welcome! Children must wear life vests, so find out if the appropriate size is available on board. Also, remember to bring snacks so that nobody gets cranky on an empty stomach!
You'll be dropping lines from a 16' Hyde drift boat with a capacity for 4 passengers. It has everything you need for a productive day on the water. Rods, reels, and tackle are ready for you, along with lures.
You will need to purchase a local fishing license before the trip. This information is usually available online, or you can ask the captain. Some species might be protected or require a tag to keep them, so make sure you know what to expect. It's always wise to bring sunglasses, sunblock (non-spray), and bottled water. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but try to avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.

This was a 15th birthday trip for my son. Captain Nick was awesome. We had no clue how to use a fly rod, and he had us fishing like pros within 10 minutes. Took us about 30 minutes to get on the fish, and once we did we never stopped! We were catching fish until my son was so exhausted fron fighting these monsters that he had to tap out. The river was gorgeous, it felt like we somewhere in Colorado. Any time we had a snag or snapped a line, Captain Nick had us back fishing in seconds. Between netting our catches, tying our rigs and keeping us on the fish, he never stopped. We will be back again, maybe this winter for some steelhead!
it was a pleasure have you guys on the boat!!! You guys were a blast to fish with and i cant wait to fish again!!!
Nick put on an absolutely fantastic trip from start to finish. He was very patient, answered numerous questions we had about the setups we were using, and sent us home feeling as confident as ever in our ability to fish the Salmon River. Not to mention, he helped my brother and I each land a nice steelhead before it was all said and done despite some challenges from the weather.
What a day we had with the wind snow and sleet!! I had a blast with you guys and thanks again for booking!!
My 15 year old brother and I took a trip with Captain Nick targeting King Salmon…and wow did we land some nice ones! Captain Nick was extremely knowledgeable and very familiar with the river and while we saw many fishermen around us struggling to land a fish, Captain Nick helped us bag and land some monsters! Can’t recommend him enough!!
Im happy you guys had a great time!! it was so much fun fishing with you guys!! I cant wait to do it again!!

Weather conditions were tough but Capt Nick put my son and I on several fish and boating all except 1 giant that we fought but lost in the current after 5+ min fight. Capt Nick has alot of river knowledge and was constantly changing baits and setups to give us the best chance! Would definitely recommend!! 👍🏻
Jeff you and Zack were a pleasure to fish with i appreciate the business!!!
