The Salmon River located between Altmar and Pulaski, NY offers one of the most unique fly fishing experiences in Upstate New York. Every fall, Lake Run Steelhead migrate up the Salmon River following Chinook, and Silver (Coho) Salmon that are returning to the river to spawn. This creates pristine conditions to target steelhead on the fly. Both swinging flies and nymphing can be equally as effective depending on the time of year and river conditions. Come learn how we target these explosive fish and experience one of the hardest fighting freshwater species out there. Salmon River trips are available from September - April with peak steelhead season being October-December. Our trips are mostly wade only but may use a raft if conditions permit.
