Spend the day with Chad Starling and find out what the fishing in Jacksonville is all about!
These waters are known for Amberjack, Great Barracuda, King Mackerel (Kingfish), Little Tunny (False Albacore), Cobia, Spanish Mackerel, Mangrove Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Vermilion Snapper, Gray Triggerfish, Blacktip Shark, Bull Shark, and more – with any luck, you’ll have tight lines in no time.
Depending on the species you’re after, you may find yourself spinning, trolling, drifting, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area.
Looking to get the whole family outdoors? Kids are absolutely welcome! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available, otherwise you should bring your own. Don’t forget to bring snacks!
Capt. Chad runs a 37’ Center console that can carry up to 6 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials. There’s a toilet on board for your convenience.
Your captain will provide rods and reels. Live bait is available, but it’s good to ask about this so you know if you’ll be catching it yourself.
There will be a First Mate on board to help your trip run smoothly. Mates work hard to make your trip count, so a 10–20% tip is customary.
The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip! Keep in mind that you may release some fish due to regulations. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.
You can’t go wrong when you bring sunscreen (non-spray), sunglasses, and bottled water. If you’d like to bring other drinks, just ask. Alcohol is allowed in moderation, so long as you avoid hard liquor as well as glass bottles.
How often would you rather be fishing? Go on and turn that daydream into a reality with Chad Starling.
