Apex Angling CT
If fishing in Fairfield is on your bucket list, look no further than Apex Angling CT. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Ben is prepared to put you on fish!
Fishing around here will often see you targeting Striped Bass, Bluefish, Little Tunny, Bonito, and more. During the trip, you might be spinning, popping, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Ben also offers fly fishing, and he'll provide the fly fishing gear. Rods, reels, and lures are included, and you're free to keep some of the fish you catch, assuming regulations allow it.
Your boat for the day is a 20' Center console with a capacity for 2 passengers. The captain may make exceptions for additional passengers, given weather conditions and size. Please expect to have a phone call the afternoon or evening prior to your trip to discuss the fishing game plan, weather, time, and meeting location. You'll be casting lures or flies the majority of the time on the water unless traveling to the grounds or scouting for fish. Children are welcome on board.
April through July are prime months for Striped Bass and Bluefish. During August and early September, Capt. Ben sometimes trailers his boat out east to target these migratory fish before arriving back to Western Long Island Sound for the Fall. Mid-September to mid-November are prime months for False Albacore, Striped Bass, Bluefish, and occasionally Atlantic Bonito.
Please be sure to bring polarized sunglasses, an outer layer or jacket, appropriate shoes or boots (non-marking), and any drinks or food which can be stored in the cooler. Ben will have a few drinks in the cooler to ensure anglers stay hydrated. You'll need to buy a local fishing license before the trip.

The weather was not great when we went out. Capt. Ben tried to warn us ahead of time, but we went ahead and went out because we were only in town for that day. He tried hard to make the most of the trip, but there was only so much he could control. He is a great guy and very personable. I imagine on another day, our experience would have been awesome. If we're in town again, we will definitely look him up.
The charter operator canceled on trip date. This is an automated posting.
Captain Ben was an excellent guide. He knows where to go & the right bait & tackle to get the job done. We were very satisfied with this adventure.

Benjamin can put you on the fish although we only had a few fish to bring home. I blame that on the rules and size for the fish. A great guide very helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend Ben and will use him again when I’m back in Connecticut.

During our 4 hour trip we caught around 15-18 stripers all between 36-40+ inches. It was just fantastic fishing and captain Ben put us in the middle of them. It was an awesome trip and the captain was the best.
