With Captain Mat DiGiovanna (IGFA Certified Captain) at the helm, you’ll benefit from 30+ years of fishing knowledge and experience.
These waters are known for Striped Bass, Bluefish, Flounder, Scup (Porgy), Black Seabass, Bonito, Little Tunny (False Albacore), and more – with any luck, you’ll hook into a few! During the trip you might be spinning, popping, jigging, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Capt. Mathew also offers fly fishing.
Capt. Mathew welcomes anglers of all ages, including kids, so the whole family can come and unplug for the day! If you don’t have a child-sized life vest of your own, be sure to ask if there’s one on board. Also remember to bring snacks for a boost of energy when needed!
Capt. Mathew operates a 23’ Regulator center console with room for 4 passengers. This hull is highly sought after for its incredibly smooth and dry ride. It is considered one of the best rides in its size of any center console.
It has all the essentials no fishing machine can run without. Your captain will provide rods and reels, along with lures. Live bait is included (depending on trip).
Just show up ready for some fishing! Have in mind that some fish may have harvest limits or closed seasons. If you don’t know what to expect, ask the captain.

FULL DAY TRIP on August 9, 2026 • 2 adults • 1 childour trip couldn’t have been any better. captain matt is such a great guy. he wss incredibly patient and gracious to me and my son and he answered every one of my sons 10,000 questions. matt was upfront with me before we committed that the water has been really warm and that we might not catch a lot of fish, but he assured me that he would try his best. he put us on some good fish right away and we landed a keeper size strip in the first 20 minutes. I appreciated his willingness to try many spots and didn’t just troll with us. the highlight of the trip was hooking into a big striper that my son so desperately wanted to catch. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend captain matt to anyone. e

Half Day Trip – Norwalk Islands on September 7, 2025 • 4 adultsExtremely accommodating and knowledgeable captain. My group picked one of the coldest and wetter mornings a day you typically would want to reschedule and expect to catch no fish. Within thirty minutes the captain already had us hooked up and fish on boat had a heavy haul by the end of the trip.

Found a school of Bunker and the rest was incredible. We all caught blues and had a great day. Will definitely repeat!
