First Cast Fishing
Planning your fishing trip in Seward just got easier, thanks to First Cast Fishing!
You'll be fishing from the shore, including some spots only locals know about. Gabriel specializes in light tackle fishing, and that's what you can expect on the day of your trip. You will also wade for your catch. Gabriel will provide rods and reels. Depending on the time of year, Chinook Salmon, Pink Salmon, Coho Salmon, and more could be biting.
You're welcome to have any fish that meet regulations. Gabriel even offers to clean your catch, so it's ready to fry up at home. Have a cooler ready in the car! Gabriel welcomes groups as large as 20 on this guided experience. You'll make your way to the fishing grounds on foot, so dress for current weather conditions and bring only as much as you can carry.
With liberal limits of Salmon, you can have fun and put fish in the freezer. You'll enjoy the stunning wildlife and Alaskan views. Depending on the time of year, our species of Salmon change. In May, June, and July, there are King Salmon and Sockeye. In July and August, there are Pink Salmon and Chum Salmon. The Silver Salmon start coming mid-August and run through September.
Layered clothing and appropriate footwear are always encouraged (if you aren't sure what that means, ask). It's always a good idea to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen, rain or shine. Gabriel welcomes anglers of all ages on these trips, including kids. Your fishing license for the day is not included, so members of your group may need to buy one.

My wife and I had a great time! Gabe was a great guide and overall host. He sent us out with Luis, his top guide, while he stayed behind to meet a few guests who were late. This maximized our fishing time and everyone got personal attention. Luis was amazing. Knowledgeable, personable, and a pleasure to fish with. We caught fish (2 for me), and seeing eagles and seals all afternoon was spectacular. Definitely recommend Gabe and Luis! Thanks for a memorable day. John and Barb, Salem, NY
My daughter &I are not very experienced in the fishing dept lol. Gabe &Domingues made us feel comfortable from the start and we were catching fish not long after getting to the water. Beautiful scenery, lots of wildlife &lots of fish to catch! It was also great that the waders and everything we needed was provided. They filleted and packaged our fish right there and we were able to fly home with almost 15lbs of sockeye salmon. Thanks Gabe for such a fun Alaskan experience..we’ll be back!
From beginning to end, we had a great time. The 2 guys were not only great to talk with, but they were helpful, nice, knowledgeable and skilled. Like any guide, they can't control actually catching fish - but we certainly did catch them. We left with about 10-12 lbs of great salmon to eat. When one of them hooked a fish, they handed their fishing rod to one of us to do the honors of reeling it in. we would definitely go out with them again!

Gabe really is a super chill and nice guide, very knowledgable about the area and EXTREMELY skilled at fishing, and Luis is the same! While my particular group didn't catch any fish (the salmon weren't running much on our day), we still had a fantastic time and really wish we could have had more time to stay there. The area in Seward is incredibly gorgeous and you couldn't ask for a better backdrop and surroundings to go fishing.
We met our guide Gabriel just outside Seward for a half day of shoreline fishing, and the fish just weren’t there that morning. He invited us back to join his afternoon group, and we had the time so we returned and 3 of the 5 of us caught decent sized salmon! They cleaned them for us and we ate them for meals 3 nights in a row. Overall it was a great experience and we’d definitely recommend Gabriel as your guide!
