First Cast Fishing
Planning your fishing trip in Seward just got easier, thanks to First Cast Fishing!
You'll be fishing from the shore, including some spots only locals know about. Gabriel specializes in light tackle fishing, and that's what you can expect on the day of your trip. You will also wade for your catch. Gabriel will provide rods and reels. Depending on the time of year, Chinook Salmon, Pink Salmon, Coho Salmon, and more could be biting.
You're welcome to have any fish that meet regulations. Gabriel even offers to clean your catch, so it's ready to fry up at home. Have a cooler ready in the car! Gabriel welcomes groups as large as 20 on this guided experience. You'll make your way to the fishing grounds on foot, so dress for current weather conditions and bring only as much as you can carry.
With liberal limits of Salmon, you can have fun and put fish in the freezer. You'll enjoy the stunning wildlife and Alaskan views. Depending on the time of year, our species of Salmon change. In May, June, and July, there are King Salmon and Sockeye. In July and August, there are Pink Salmon and Chum Salmon. The Silver Salmon start coming mid-August and run through September.
Layered clothing and appropriate footwear are always encouraged (if you aren't sure what that means, ask). It's always a good idea to bring sunglasses, bottled water, and sunscreen, rain or shine. Gabriel welcomes anglers of all ages on these trips, including kids. Your fishing license for the day is not included, so members of your group may need to buy one.

An incredible way to experience the local side of Alaska. Going fishing with the First Cast Fishing team was such a great experience, and I would absolutely recommend it. It felt very natural, casual, and authentic, and gave us the opportunity to see a completely different side of Seward. Being out on the water, surrounded by nature and beautiful landscapes, was amazing. The team was incredibly friendly and made the whole experience fun and relaxed. Even though we didn’t catch anything, we had a great time and would definitely do it again!

We had such a wonderfull time fishing with Gabriel. He was awesome teaching us, very pacient, and me and my husband could catch fish. I have never cast fished in my life, and I don’t actually fish, and was able to go home scoring 3. We choosed this because I get sea sick and my husband really wanted to fish while in Seward. After we fished, Gabriel cleaned the fish for us, and gave recomendations on where to take it to be processed, and a restaurant that cooked it for us to dine. Would 100% recommend this for anyone!

Our fishing trip with Gabriel was truly a unique experience and one of the highlights of our time in Alaska. We learned so much from his knowledge, experience, and incredible agility while fishing. Gabriel was not only an excellent guide, but also made the whole experience so much fun. It was much more than just a fishing activity — it was an authentic Alaskan experience that we will remember for a long time. We are very grateful to Gabriel for sharing his wisdom with us and making the day so special. We would absolutely recommend this experience to anyone visiting Alaska! 🎣🏔️❤️
We had a fantastic shore fishing experience in Seward with Gabe and his helper for the day, Justin. Our group included 12 family members ranging in age from 12 to 81, and Gabe did an outstanding job teaching everyone how to snag salmon. He was patient, knowledgeable, and made sure everyone understood the technique and had a great time. Gabe is an extremely skilled guide, but what really stood out was how personable, organized, and communicative he was. Managing a group our size with such a wide range of ages (and skill) is no small task, and he made the entire experience run smoothly and feel fun and relaxed. This was a memorable experience for our whole family and one of the highlights of our time in Seward. We would highly recommend Gabe to anyone looking for a great fishing experience in Alaska!
Gabriel was an outstanding fishing guide and truly went above and beyond to accommodate my needs. His hospitality, professionalism, and attention to detail made the entire experience enjoyable and stress-free. He was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely committed to making sure I had a great day. I couldn’t have asked for a better guide and would highly recommend Gabriel to anyone looking for a memorable fishing experience!
