Catch Dog Sport Fishing Charters
Welcome aboard the fishing vessel 'Catch Dog!' The crew specializes in having fun and catching fish!
There are many species to catch in the waters off Port Canaveral! When deep-sea fishing, you'll target King Mackerel, Mahi Mahi, Sailfish, and more. If fishing nearshore, expect to hook Shark, Red Drum, Sting Ray, Snook, and many more. Whether you're an avid angler and have been offshore many times before, or this is your first time and want to try it out, they'll accommodate anyone.
You'll be fishing from a 32' Priority offshore sport fishing boat with all the newest electronics and fishing equipment. It fits 5 people comfortably but can accommodate up to 6 people. Boat has plenty of shade and an enclosed cabin with a bathroom. The boat is equipped with
outriggers ideal for trolling for pelagic fish species along with downriggers, yeti fish ice cooler, and live bait well. You can play your favorite tunes on the sound system while enjoying the spectacular scenery!
If you have kids, the crew will ensure to take their time and teach them the proper way to get them hooked up! Bring on the trip whatever you want to eat or drink for the day. There's a cooler with clean ice on the boat, but if you have your own cooler, that's fine too. Beer is ok but please, no hard liquor. Sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a towel, and zip-lock bags for fish fillets are also good things to bring. A 15–20% gratuity is customary and greatly appreciated.
Catch Dog Sport Fishing operates out of Port Canaveral, FL, right behind Grills Seafood Restaurant, one hour east of Orlando. Upon returning to the dock, if you wish, the restaurant will cook your catch for an extra cost. Talk about super fresh seafood! The captain will call the day before your trip between 5–8 p.m. to talk about the game plan.
Let's go fishing and get you hooked! The Catch Dog crew is looking forward to making great memories and catching fish with you!

Fun in the sun for the whole family! From the moment we left the dock, the captain was on his game- keeping the lines in the water and making sure we always had a chance at the next bite. His knowledge, experience, and friendly personality made the trip enjoyable for everyone from the kids to the adults. We ended the day with 18 fish total, including bonitos, King Mackeral, and a barracuda! It was non-stop action, plenty of laughs, and memories our family will cherish. If you're looking for an unforgettable day on the water with a captain who truly knows how to put you on the fish, we couldn't recommend this trip more!
Captain Ron had us on the fish within 15 minutes of leaving the harbor. During our quick 3 hour charter we caught three hammerheads, 2 blacknose sharks and a bunch of croaker which was fun on the ultra light tackle. Ronnie has great communication before and after the charter and his boat was well equipped with bait and tackle. On a super sunny day the cover and shade his boat provides would be a godsend. Ron was very personable and knowledge and had a fun laid back vibe that we all appreciated as we caught fish and jammed out to some fun boat music. Highly recommended! Thanks again Capt!
Captain Ronnie was awesome. He took us out to a great spot and we caught a bunch of small fish and several sharks! We lucked out with some nice weather and everyone had a blast! We can’t wait to come back. Thank you, Captain Ronnie!
We had scheduled a 7hr trip, we did not catch as many as we had hoped but it was the same way across the board for the other people out fishing as well, the captain cant control the fish lol. But he was great and just as bummed by the lack of action as we were. Absolutely zero fault of his and he done everything he could think of to help us make the best of it!
The fish weren’t biting for any charters out there but we were still able to get a few with Ronnie. The water was a little rough due to weather and when our 5yr old was over fishing Ronnie made sure to swing by an area where she was likely to see some dolphins and they didn’t disappoint! Great trip and a great captain! Highly Recommend

Captain Ronnie Rapp is a third-generation native Floridian who grew up fishing on Florida's Space Coast right here in Cocoa, FL. Ronnie started inshore fishing the flats, then quickly discovered there are bigger fish to fry. His older brothers introduced him to the game of deep sea fishing, where he fell in love and dreamed of owning a seaworthy fishing boat one day and making a living doing it. Several years later, here we are!
