Flight Risk Fishing Charters
If you're here to make the most of off-shore fishing in Port Canaveral, look no further than Flight Risk Fishing Charters. Having logged many hours on these tides, Captain Michael Adkins is prepared to put you on fish.
Amberjack, Tuna, Bonito, Mahi Mahi, Goliath Grouper, Jack Crevalle, Kingfish, Blacktip Shark, Red Snapper, Sailfish, Tarpon, Wahoo, and more can be found in these waters, depending on the season. You can expect to do some light tackle fishing, trolling, bottom fishing, or maybe something more specialized in this area. Any fish within the legal limit is yours to keep. Plus, you can have your catch cleaned. Now that's dinner!
Your boat for the day is a 29' Center console with room for 4 passengers. It comes with outriggers, downriggers, and all the essentials. Capt. Mike will supply rods and reels for you, along with lures. Live bait is on offer, but you should ask the captain whether you'll be catching it yourself. The charter boat covers your fishing license, so all you have to do is look forward to your trip!
Young ones are welcome, so go ahead and bring the whole family along! Be sure to ask if child-sized life vests are available. You can't go wrong when you bring snacks, drinks, sunglasses, and sunscreen (non-spray). Alcohol is allowed in moderation, but avoid hard liquor and glass bottles. Some fish have special regulations, including when you can keep them. Your captain will help you follow regulations while you fish.

Yesterday was an experience our family will never forget! I’m so glad we found Flight Risk Fishing Charters through FishingBooker. We wanted to take our two kids on a memorable fishing trip while visiting the Cocoa Beach area, but we weren’t sure what type of charter to book. Since our son has always been fascinated by sharks, we decided to give shark fishing a try—and it exceeded every expectation! We were lucky enough to catch four sharks, each a different species: a blacktip, blacknose, lemon, and finetooth. Every member of our family caught one! Captain Mike even let the kids keep the hooks they used to catch their sharks, giving them a special keepsake they’ll treasure for years. Captain Mike was fantastic with our pre-teens. We started by anchoring and setting out the shark lines, and while we waited for the first bite, he had the kids fishing for sand trout. They caught well over 50! My son even caught one big enough that Captain Mike used it as shark bait—and that’s the bait that helped him catch his shark! It was such a cool full-circle moment. On the ride back to the marina, Captain Mike took the time to teach our daughter about the boat and how everything worked. He was patient, engaging, and clearly enjoys introducing kids to fishing. As a family man himself, he shared stories with us throughout the trip, making the entire experience feel relaxed, welcoming, and personal. We were able to bring three of our four sharks onboard the boat for photos. My husband’s shark was another story—it was simply too big! At approximately 12 feet long and around 400 pounds, there was no bringing that one aboard! If you’re looking for an unforgettable fishing experience with someone who is knowledgeable, patient, and wonderful with families, I can’t recommend Captain Mike and Flight Risk Fishing Charters enough. We absolutely plan to book with him again the next time we’re in the area!
We had an incredible time shark fishing with our 14-year-old son and 12-year-old daughter! From the moment we got on the water, the action never stopped. The kids had huge smiles on their faces the entire trip because they were constantly reeling in fish and sharks. The captain was knowledgeable, patient, and made sure everyone had a chance to catch something. He was great with the kids and kept the excitement going from start to finish. This was one of those family experiences we’ll be talking about for years. If you’re looking for an exciting trip with nonstop action and unforgettable memories, we highly recommend this charter. We can’t wait to come back!
A half day deep sea charter with Captain Mike in late July was a great day for my wife and i as a last minute schedule while in town for business. With just. day to get out we didnt target anything specific and let him guide on what was currently biting well. He quickly got us on the Kingfish with steady acton the entire trip. He is an absolute pleasure to be around and to work with and worked hard to make sure we had the best opportunities given the current bite and conditions! His exprience and local knowledge is very apparent. You won't go wrong booking with Flight Risk and Captain Mike.
Booked a four hour shark fishing trip and we definitely got what we hoped for. Just a few minutes after dropping anchor the sharks started biting. We caught five nice size sharks, two being well over seven foot. Captain made the experience great. He was very helpful and generally seemed as excited as we were when the fish were biting. My seventeen year old son is now hooked. He can’t wait to bring his buddies back. Great memories!!!

We booked a full day offshore trip a few months in advance to secure a date for our vacation. As we were getting closer to our trip date, mother nature decided to increase the wind speed, making offshore too dangerous. They helped us figure out a new date for our trip and moved us to a different day without any issues. The forecast looked decent until the day before our rescheduled trip where we had to switch plans from a full day offshore to a 4 hour nearshore shark fishing trip. They did everything they could to get us out on the water. Communication before the trip was top tier. Captain Jake took us out for the morning and we only caught one shark on our trip but we also got to see a rocket launch from the nearby space station and even saw a couple pods of dolphin swimming nearby. Captain Jake not only knowledgable on fishing but also on the other things that go on in the area. I highly recommend Flight Risk for your fishing needs. You will have an amazing time!
I'm Captain Mike Adkins. I began working on head boats while still in high school, became a full-time mate after graduating college in 2007, and eventually became a Captain in May 2008. I've run charter boats as captain/mate for over 15 years. I have lived and worked from Key West, FL, to North Carolina and everywhere in between, and spent 3 years only fishing in the southern Bahamas. I specialize in trolling, but I'm also an expert on various other techniques.
